Hulu has revealed an official trailer for a comedy series titled Davey & Jonesie's Locker, produced by both Prime Video & Hulu. It's ready to launch for streaming later in March. Veronika Slowikowska stars as Davey and Jaelynn Thora Brooks as Jonesie - best friends. The two feel out of step with their peers and the banal backdrops of their high school. When they discover their locker is actually a portal to a Multiverse, they set off on new adventures. Alas, these adventures are set in alternate versions of their high school, with offbeat iterations of their classmates. The cast also includes Dan Beirne as disgraced quantum physicist turned science teacher, Mr. Schneider, who plays a key role; along with Emily Piggford, Nikko Angelo Hinayo, Kevin Lauta Osea, Erika Swayze, and showrunner Evany Rosen as the school's principal.

We’ve arrived at the penultimate episode of NBC’s Transplant season three with an episode that finds Bash attempting to get closure with an old friend. Season three episode 12, “Tariq,” will air on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 9pm Et/Pt. The season will wrap up with episode 13 on February 9th.

Marblemedia has wrapped production on the upcoming half-hour teen comedy series “Davey & Jonesie’s Locker,” Variety confirms.

The 10-episode, single-camera series filmed in Toronto and has been co-commissioned by Prime Video in Canada, Australia and New Zealand and Hulu in the U.S.

Exclusive: IFC Midnight has acquired U.S. rights to Randall Okita’s Tribeca Film Festival title See For Me, the home invasion chiller that pits a blind house-sitter against three experienced thieves.

The film stars visually impaired actor Skyler Davenport alongside Kim Coates, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Pascal Langdale, Joe Pingue, George Tchortov, Laura Vandervoort and Emily Piggford.

Davenport plays blind former skier Sophie, who accepts a last-minute house-sitting job in a secluded mansion. But she awakes in the middle of the night to find the house under invasion by a group of thieves seeking a hidden safe. Her only means of defense is a new app called “See For Me,” which matches her with a volunteer across the country who uses Sophie’s cell phone to see on her behalf. Stubbornly independent, Sophie is reluctant to accept help until she is connected to Kelly, an Army veteran who spends her days playing first-person shooter games.

Kim’s Convenience stars Andrew Phung and Nicole Power have landed their next projects at Canada’s CBC, less than a month after the comedy’s producers said the series would end with its fifth season. Their latest titles will launch during the upcoming 2021-22 broadcast season.

Phung, who appears in the Korean Canadian family comedy as Kimchee, has teamed with The Secret Marathon‘s Scott Townsend to create Run the Burbs. The original series will focus a young, bold Canadian family taking a different approach to living life to the fullest in the suburbs. Phung will star as a stay-at-home dad with an entrepreneur wife and two kids. The series has been in development since May 2020 and is produced by Pier 21 Films, with additional details to be announced later this spring.

Andrew Szusterman will be the managing director of the Auckland-based South Pacific Pictures from February 2020.

Szusterman joins the company from Mediaworks, where has worked for the last 17 years, most recently as chief content officer, responsible for programming across the company’s TV, radio and digital platforms.

He will work with South Pacific Pictures’ CEO Kelly Martin and head of production Sally Campbell, bringing his knowledge of local and international audiences to the company.

“South Pacific Pictures are thrilled to have Andrew coming on board in 2020,” says Martin.

“He brings a wealth of experience and expertise, and we know he will be a huge asset to the company.”

Szusterman is looking forward to the new opportunity. “It’s great to be joining one of New Zealand’s most iconic film and television studios at such a vibrant time for the production community,” he says.

AMC-owned streamer Acorn TV has secured a new distribution deal with ABC Commercial for a significant range of local content for its Anz-based subscription service, and has partnered with Sky Nz to commission Kiwi thriller The Sounds.

The new ABC agreement will include Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Jungle Entertainment’s A Moody Christmas and The Moodys. The agreement also lists UK productions Kingdom, Shameless and made for television film, Churchill’s Secret. All ABC content in the agreement will be available to stream in locally September and October.

ABC Commercial has been a founding content partner for Acorn TV, which re-launched in 2018 in North America and recently hit the 1 million subscribers.

AMC Networks-owned streamer Acorn TV, Kiwi pay-tv platform Sky Nz, and Canadian pubcaster CBC are tuning into “The Sounds,” an original thriller set on New Zealand’s South Island.

The eight-parter will star Rachelle Lefevre (“Under the Dome”) and Matt Whelan (“Narcos”) as a couple who move to Marlborough Sounds to start a new life. When Tom disappears, unsettling facts about him soon come to light, and the search brings long-buried wounds to the surface.

Matt Nable (“Arrow”) will co-star. The cast also includes Emily Piggford (“The Girlfriend Experience”), Peter Elliott (“Tarzan”), Anna-Maree Thomas (“The Brokenwood Mysteries”), and Vanessa Rare (“Last Man Standing”).

All3Media’s New Zealand production company South Pacific Pictures and Toronto-based Shaftesbury are co-producing the show, which will bow in 2020. The project was created by bestselling author Sarah-Kate Lynch, who is also the lead writer on the series. Peter Stebbings (“Wynonna Earp”) will direct.

Starz has renewed Steven Soderbergh's critically-acclaimed drama series, The Girlfriend Experience, for a third season of 10 episodes. Piggford recurs on Netflix series The Umbrella Academy, as well as Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience on Starz, and also is a series regular on CBC’s comedy series Michael: Every Day, opposite Bob Martin and Matt Watts. In addition, Piggford is a lead and producer of D.W. Waterson’s online series, That’s My DJ, for which she received a Canadian Screen Award nomination, and she is currently a lead in the CW/CBC web-series Warigami. Piggford also is featured in the Columbia Pictures’ thriller Flatliners starring Ellen Page and Nina Dobrev., and Canadian indie The Cuban, starring Louis Gossett Jr and Shohreh Aghdashloo.

It isn’t redundant or ham-fisted storytelling; it’s purposely repetitive for poetic effect. It shows the universal nature of this aphorism, as well as its unfortunate legacy and longevity. It shows the wisdom of those who composed it, and the arrogance of those who choose to ignore it. But, moreover, it shows the surprising depth behind Frost, Jeremy Ball’s ten-minute sci-fi epic.
