Russel Hornbeek is a versatile entrepreneur and nonprofit leader with a career that spans multiple industries. In 1987, at just 21 years old, Russel founded his own medical device company, Horn Surgical Inc., specializing in the repair and sale of surgical instruments. He developed a successful global business, importing products from Europe and the Middle East, and even creating his own line of surgical instruments.
In addition to his success in the medical field, Russel's passion for music and marketing led him to consult and manage musicians in the alternative rock and indie genres. His work with emerging talent further fueled his desire to make a difference in the world. In 2006, he founded Music Saves Lives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting young people with the life-saving impact of blood and marrow donations. By partnering with major music events, Russel was able to inspire a new generation of donors, linking his organization to over 1 million blood donations, 34,000 marrow registrations, and the saving of 60 leukemia patients. The ripple effect of these efforts has potentially saved millions of lives globally.
With over 25 years of experience managing imperatively programs, Russel has worked with some of the music industry's top artists, national concert tours, and blood banks across the globe. After navigating the challenges of the 2019 pandemic, Russel has shifted his focus back to acting and producing in Film and TV, reigniting his passion for the entertainment industry.
