This review of The Orville: New Horizons contains spoilers.
The Orville: New Horizons Season 3 Episode 1
After a nearly three year hiatus, The Orville enters its ‘new horizon’, as it begins a new era streaming on Hulu. Yet, in the first episode of season 3, both the break and the new streaming platform already appear to be very good things for the future of the show. In what seems like a lifetime ago, season 2 of Seth MacFarlane’s star trekking, adventure-comedy found its voice, a voice that certainly differed from the satirical and often silly tone of the premiere season.
That dramatic shift in season 2 created a much stronger show, and with it, came a much more steadfast audience. Within the past three years since the conclusion of season 2, Disney acquired Orville parent company, Fox, and in an equally massive shift, we all experienced a global pandemic. The question on every fan...

The Orville, Seth MacFarlane's fanboy homage to Star Trek and space adventures, was an enormous hit with viewers when it premiered in 2017 on Fox.
Since The Orville Season 2 Episode 14 closed out its sophomore season, there have been a lot of changes.
The Orville Season 3 has added the new subtitle, "New Horizons," and will stream on Hulu.
Recently, Hulu announced March 10, 2022, as the premiere, but today has pushed that to June 2, citing production delays due to Covid-19 issues.
"Set 400 years in the future, "The Orville: New Horizons" finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships."
To make it up to fans who have waited patiently -- and not-so-patiently -- for nearly three years to see new episodes, they released an epic sneak peek clip of The Orville New Horizons Season 3 opener.

Fred Savage makes his talk-show host debut Sunday on Fox’s “What Just Happened??! With Fred Savage” — a very real aftershow based on a very not real sci-fi series called “The Flare.” Well, not real for now, at least, as the “Wonder Years” alum is thinking maybe his show could help its fake lead-in get the green light.
“I’ll be honest, we’re hoping that it’s not so fake,” Savage — who hosts, co-created and executive produces “What Just Happened??!” — told TheWrap. “I mean, ‘The Flare’ does exist — just a scene at a time. The books are obviously completely made up, but the show itself, like, we have a real cast, a real director, and I think it’s a good show.”
“The Flare” is based on fictional author Tj Whitford’s sci-fi book series, “The Moon is the Sun at Night,” which has been a favorite of Savage’s since childhood.

Rob Lowe will be the first guest on Fox’s upcoming parody after-show “What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage,” which will reunite the stars of the previously-canceled “The Grinder.”
Framed to be a talk show to discuss the events after Fox’s made-up sci-fi drama, “The Flare,” “What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage” will invite special guests like Lowe to analyze what took place on the fictional show’s latest episode (akin to AMC’s “Talking Dead and “Talking Saul”), and will include as set visits to “The Flare,” interviews with the “cast,” and fan discussions.
Kevin Zegers (“Dirty John”), Guillermo Diaz (“Scandal”) and Shiri Appleby (“UnReal”) are among those tapped to play the “cast” of “The Flare.”
