When The Mandalorian premiered on Disney+ in 2019, most viewers quickly became enamored with the Yodi-like Grogu. The title character could have become an afterthought, but the man behind the mask helped infuse Din Djarin with quiet charisma and heroic stoicism. In fact, I remember asking my brother who the actor playing Mando was. “That’s Pedro Pascal! He’s from Narcos.” I looked up the Netflix crime series and it seemed right up my alley.

Why am I not surprised that Clary’s brilliant idea to track down Jonathan on Monday’s Shadowhunters involved stripping Jace down to his true form (#shirtless) and going in for the world’s longest, most glowing hug?

HBO hasn’t released a description for Sunday’s Game of Thrones (9/8c), “The Spoils of War,” which is rumored to be a doozy. So we officially have absolutely no idea what’s going to take place in the fourth episode… save what we can infer from photos released Wednesday.
The glimpses from the hour, along with the official preview video above, paint a picture of a frustrated Daenerys who can’t believe she’s already losing the war for the Iron Throne. Theon also apparently arrives at Dragonstone, which likely doesn’t help lift anyone’s spirits: That guy...

Need to catch up? Check out the previous Game of Thrones recap here.
Jon Snow King in the North and Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen First of Her etc. finally breathe the same air in this week’s Game of Thrones, and I’m guessing Jon wishes he brought all of his northern furs, because brrrrr it is Chilly in that Dragonstone throne room. (At least, at first.)
But the best moment of the episode, in my view, happens at the very end, as Lady Olenna proves she’s the Hbic 4eva.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Twin Peaks, Preacher, Casual and Arrow!
But first, some Qs coming out of San Diego Comic-Con:
1 | Does anyone not think that that Morgan saying “I don’t die” in The Walking Dead’s trailer dooms him?
2 | Kansas performing “Carry on Wayward Son” in Hall H: Peak Supernatural moment? Like, how do they even come close to topping that next year?
3 | Who would you award Miss/Mister Congeniality, of the many who passed through TVLine’s video suite?...

More than a year after Loras Tyrell was burned alive in the Great Sept, TVLine is finally interrogating the man responsible for putting him in the line of (wild)fire.
PhotosGame of Thrones: Jon and Daenerys’ First Meeting Captured
Before recurring on Freeform’s Shadowhunters, Will Tudor was busy stirring up trouble of a different sort on Game of Thrones. His character, a prostitute/spy named Olyvar, carried on a seasons-long affair with Margaery’s late brother — one which ended when he, under Cersei’s instruction, exposed Loras’ homosexual acts for which formal charges were brought against him.

Shadowhunters' Jonathan Morgenstern is alive, if not particularly well.
Clutching the last piece of the Mortal Instrument triumvirate, Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) came face to face with her long-lost brother during "A Dark Reflection." Unaware of Jonathan's (Will Tudor) dual existence as Sebastian, the young Nephilim offered her sibling two choices -- take the mirror and leave, or reunite with his family. He didn't get a chance to answer -- or to request a trip to New York's finest burn unit -- but he can rest easy with the knowledge that the olive branch is still in play.

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Monday’s “Shadowhunters”) “Shadowhunters” viewers might not believe what they’re about to see. Dominic Sherwood, who plays Jace on the Freeform series, told TheWrap that tension continues to build between his character and villain Sebastian (Will Tudor) as the show nears the Season 2 finale. Indeed, this is likely related to the cast revealing at Comic-Con that a key character will die in the finale. “It’s dark — we’re approaching the end of the season now, so we’re coming to this big climax,” Sherwood said in an interview with TheWrap.

One of season 2B's most highly anticipated debuts, after Sebastian (Will Tudor), of course, is that of the devilishly angelic Seelie Queen. Cunning as any demon and as radiant as any warrior of God, the leader of the Fair Folk is as tricky as they come. Now, it looks as if Modern Family's Sarah Hyland could bring the role to life.

Forget that it's an adaptation and this new, overstuffed Dirk Gently series is actually an agreeably daft watch...
Despite the perpetually stuck sofas and the alien ghosts and time travelling, Douglas Adams’ delightfully nutty book Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency somehow completely hangs together. For all its weird digressions and laundry list of characters it was clear there was a method to the madness, and with Adams we were always in safe hands. There was never the sense that either Dirk Gently or the follow-up, The Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul was too scattershot and ultimately, Adams more or less pulled his various narrative strands together. Could the latest attempt to adapt the story for TV pull off the same thing?

Our salute to Steven Spielberg at 70 moves to the 2000s: A.I, Munich, Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can & Crystal Skull.
By the end of the 1990s, Spielberg found himself in a position of unparalleled luxury. As an executive, he’d set up Amblin and DreamWorks and was enjoying success with both, while as a director he’d ridden through an uneven decade to achieve the critical success he’d longed for. Where do you go from there? What do you do when you’re the film-maker who’s done everything? Well, Spielberg himself never seemed sure of how to answer that question because during the first ten years of the new millennium he hopped from genre to genre, covering sci-fi and historical thriller, retro caper and fish-out-of-water comedy. It's one of the most eclectic decades of his career and, in my opinion at least, the...

Caden Cotard wakes up with aching limbs to the sound of the television blaring, his four-year-old daughter yelling from the bathroom and his wife clinking around in the kitchen. Caden's house feels small and cluttered, as though the walls are bearing down on him. The light is cold and rancid.
Based on this opening sequence, Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York feels like a movie grounded in a particularly unvarnished kind of reality. The interiors aren't the brightly-lit open spaces we're used to seeing in Hollywood productions.

Humans, Season One, “Episode Seven”
Written by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley
Directed by China Moo-Young
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on AMC
The awakening of Mia last week represented a major breakthrough for Leo and his group, especially coupled with Fred’s escape from Hobb’s home. While the desire for Leo and his group to determine the consciousness code and make it available for other synths hit a roadblock with Max’s sacrifice, the open willingness of Laura and Mattie to help proved that the group had allies they could trust. This week’s episode sees Leo’s group and the Hawkins family connect further as Karen’s history is revealed and a key character is lost in an entertaining episode that sets up an exciting first season finale.
It’s intriguing to note Karen’s anti-synth stance this week, especially when contrasted with Niska’s pro-synth stance.
