Fernando Gil G. spent his childhood in Aragon, where, as a young man, he became passionate about photography, in 2002 he started a photo-chemistry laboratory through different studies in the treatment and capture of the image, in the CIPFP Los Enlaces. Then he starts working for several years in various development laboratories.
His impetus to explore in the field of cinematography leads him to complete his academic training, in 2008 he enters CPA Salduie, where he obtains the Higher Degree of Realization and subsequently does the same in C.I.P.F.P The Links to obtain the Superior Degree of Image.
In 2012 he began his studies at ECAM (School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid), where he graduated in 2015 in the specialty of Photography and Cinematography.
Since then, he has been part of the lighting equipment for such renowned films as "El hombre de las mil caras" by Alberto Rodríguez, "Julieta" by Pedro Almodóvar, "Abracadabra" by Pablo Berger, "Ocho apellidos Catalanes" , by Emilio Martínez Lázaro, "El Guardian Invisible", By Fernando González Molina, "Tiempo después", by José Luis Cuerda, as well as the three seasons of the acclaimed television series "El Ministerio del Tiempo".
In all these productions he has been able to work hand in hand and learn from the best professionals in our country, such as cinematographers Migue Amoedo, Unax Mendía, Isaac Vila, Álex Catalán, Flabio Labiano, Kiko De La Rica, Jean-Claude Larrieu or Pau Esteve Birba.
His passion for telling stories through optics, color and light led him to start his work as a director of photography. "Showing the character", "Smile", "El llanto" and "Taxi, fuera de servicio" are some of his first works.
In 2015, he did it with the short film "Milkshake Express" (Simón del Cine Aragonés Award for Best Short Film and Nominated for the Best Direction of Photography at SCIFE: Film and Image Week of Fuentes de Ebro). The same year the short films "El hombre de Hojalata" and "Black Brain" are also taking place.
In 2016, "Vergüenza", a short film shot in a single sequence shot, that has gone through festivals such as the Film Week of Medina del Campo or Cortogenia in June 2017, as well as the Audience Award in the Short Film Festival. Aragoneses 2017 and with the Second Prize for Best Short Film at the Short Film Contest for Peace of San Pablo de Buceite 2017. That same year he shoots "Selfie", shot in Las Bardenas Reales de Navarra, which has received the special prize of the Jury in the IV Navarra Tierra de Cine awards, organized by the Navarra Film Commission, also receives the Pavez Award for Best Local Short Film 2017.
Currently, Fernando continues to combine his work in the light and camera departments in numerous advertising spots, feature films, television series and short films, with the preparation of new projects as a director of photography. He is also a member of the ACA (Academy of Aragonese Filmmakers).
His passion, professionalism and experience in the most recognized works of our country take him to have that unique look, appreciable in all his projects.
