Pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee was born on September 19, 1981 in Long Island, New York. Bradlee grew up in Pattenburg, New Jersey. Scott became enamored with jazz music after hearing George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" for the first time at the age of 12. Following graduation from North Hunterton High School in Hunterton County, New Jersey, Bradlee attended the University of Hartford. Scott went on to become a successful performer in the New York jazz scene playing at super clubs and night spots as well as has served as the musical director for the immersive theater project Sleep No More. Bradlee eventually began reworking modern popular music with arrangements done in past music genres as an exorcise. In 2009 he released the digital single "Hello My Ragtime '80s," in which he grafted familiar lines from twenty 1980's pop hits into a medley played in traditional ragtime style. This was followed by the album "Mashups by Candlelight" in 2012. Scott subsequently founded the group Postmodern Jukebox, which is an ever-changing musical collective with always revolving members that specializes in doing covers of popular music of current vintage in past period musical styles such as jazz, swing, and ragtime. Postmodern Jukebox has not only amassed a substantial following on YouTube, but also have recorded a handful of albums and toured in six continents altogether. Bradlee released the memoir "Outside the Jukebox: How I Turned My Vintage Music Obsession Into My Dream Gig" in June, 2018.
