Int. Your Screen – Now.
On Tuesday, Hulu released the trailer for the upcoming limited series “Interior Chinatown,” an imaginative, genre-bending comedy from creator Charles Yu and director Taika Waititi.
The series follows Willis Wu, a background character trapped “Groundhog Day”-style inside of a police procedural called “Black & White.” Relegated to the background, Willis goes through the motions of his on-screen job, waiting tables, dreaming about a world beyond Chinatown and aspiring to be the lead of his own story. When Willis inadvertently becomes a witness to a crime, he begins to unravel a criminal web in Chinatown, while discovering his own family’s buried history and what it feels like to be in the spotlight. In the trailer, he fights, he gets close to a beautiful detective named Lana Lee, and he gets generally kind of Charlie Kaufman-esque with it. It’s the kind of world where...

Jimmy O. Yang doesn’t code for Erlich Bachman no more.
On Tuesday, Hulu released the trailer for “Interior Chinatown,” its wild action-comedy series based on Charles Yu’s book of the same name. Yang, who plays a mild-mannered waiter, is about to get way in over his head.
But first, he exists in total mundanity.
“In Chinatown, nothing ever changes,” Willis Wu (Yang) says to open the trailer. “Nothing exciting ever happens to me or you or anyone we know.”
“I feel like I’m a background character in someone else’s story,” Wu continues.
Well, he’s definitely — and precisely — right about that last part.
“Interior Chinatown” follows Wu, a background character stuck in a police procedural called “Black & White.” This may sound weird, but the show has a definite “Wreck-It Ralph” vibe.

Hayley Atwell is indeed one of the most talented stars in Hollywood, with her sheer determination and commitment to whatever she’s doing perfectly helping her ace her game. To say that the actress is so deeply invested in whatever she does that she hates losing wouldn’t be an understatement, considering how she once did everything in her power just because she didn’t want to lose.

With the massive success of the Invincible TV series, Skybound Entertainment has decided to expand into the gaming industry as they plan to release a Aaa game based on the iconic comics and TV series. Despite being one of the most popular franchises in the world, Skybound is still relying on crowdfunding for the Invincible video game.

Skybound has set up an investment opportunity for the fans on the Republic investment platform, allowing people to invest a minimum of $100 into the game. They have already raised $18 million from everyday investors and fans through Republic/Seedrs, so why do they need crowdfunding again? The strange part of this investment is that people who invest will not even get equity in the company as Skybound has the right to decide in the future if they want to provide investors with equity.

Invincible ended its second season with a bang. In the classic Multiverse of Madness-style, there is an entire sequence where Mark is thrown from one universe to another, each having some or the other Easter egg. From Spider-Man showing up in the form of Agent Spider, who was fighting Prof. Ock, to Invincible making fun of Batman’s name on a rooftop, this part of the episode was fun, to say the least.

On top of these references, there was also a universe plagued with zombies, making a not-so-subtle nod to just how many people from The Walking Dead are a part of the series. One would assume that one of these three cameos would be favored by the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman. However, it would seem that something else had him a lot more excited; a split-second cameo of a gun.

Invincible Season 2 Episode 8 referred to one of the earliest jokes in the series, one concerning a certain archeologist with a beetle tattoo, who gets buried in the sand because Mark summons a sandstorm by flying too low.
This occurred way back in Episode 4 of Season 1. Episode 8 of Season 2 had Chloe Bennet (Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) play a companion to the daughter of this archeologist. Bennet’s character was called Riley, while the archeologist’s daughter, voiced by Ella Purnell (of Arcane fame), was called Jane.

While the first season splattered the Invincible logo with blood as the episodes progressed, symbolizing the lies and the violence that Mark is going to face going forward, Season 2 sees the title crack and chip, revealing a black and blue version of it, which super-fans know does not bode well for the enemies of Invincible.

Coming to the Season 2 finale, Mark will most probably switch his suit colors to the second iteration of his outfit, one that Art makes for him because the first suit has ‘too many colors’. Unlike a movie, a TV show is not generally meant to be consumed in a single sitting. It is, at least in theory, designed to be enjoyed episode by episode. So having already celebrated the best series of the year (and the best TV performances), we’re here now to highlight a few individual chapters that particularly stood out to us from our hundreds and hundreds of hours of viewing.

It must be kind of difficult for any modern-day animated filmmakers to make a film that is going to be popular. Outside of Disney/Pixar, Dreamworks and Studio Ghibli, It’s hard to get noticed. Laika are perhaps the most successful outside of the big few production companies and they did it by making several great animated movies, including Coraline, The Boxtrolls and Kubo and the Two Strings. But it’s easy to see why the poster for Rally Road Racers says in bold ‘From The Producer Of Shrek’. Unfortunately, that might be one of the few reasons some viewers might give the movie a chance.

A slow loris hero longs to be a racing driver and his dreams take him everywhere from an A-ha video pastiche to a bewildering Brexit satire
Most animated features are designed to be exported to countries all over the world, the voice track redubbed for each local market to add flavour and ensure the kids don’t have to read subtitles. Likewise, having the characters incarnated by talking animals (a tradition dating back to the earliest days of animation), is another handy way to deracialise the material. This way, anyone anywhere watching the same movie can relate to the heroic dog or rabbit or whoever as they go about learning about the value of family or the importance of friendship in a fantasy landscape that bears little resemblance to our actual planet.
This one, apparently a multinational effort judging by its end credits and production companies, weirdly both conforms to and breaks those rules.

Los Angeles, July 22 (Ians) The popular American animated superhero series ‘Invincible’ has just released the teaser trailer for its upcoming Season 2. The teaser takes place in the aftermath of Invincible’s brutal confrontation with his father, Omni-Man in the finale of Season 1.
It’s mostly just a reel to hype up the massive star-studded voice cast, without much in the way of actual footage leaving things pretty obscure.
Based on the Robert Kirkman graphic novels of the same name, the series revolves around teenager Mark Grayson as he develops superpowers akin to his father, the world’s most powerful hero Omni-Man, only to eventually learn of a dark secret behind his father’s past while dealing with his own powers. After all, ‘With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility’, it may be an overused line in Spiderman, but is applicable for all supers and even in real life.

Barry (HBO)
Bill Hader’s hitman dramedy grew bleaker and more ambitious with each passing season. The final episodes expanded the scope of Barry’s destruction beyond his loved ones, beyond Hollywood and even beyond L.A.’s criminal underworld into the next generation, as embodied by his wide-eyed son. Meanwhile, the series also broadened its cultural critique to implicate not only the showbiz industry it so knowingly skewered, but the larger population of viewers like us, weaned on the sorts of antihero dramas Barry aimed to deconstruct. — Angie Han
Beef (Netflix)
Beef‘s surgical eye for detail elevated what could have just been a playful comedy about two feuding strangers into one of the year’s most outrageously twisty, screamingly funny thrillers — while its curiosity and empathy turned it into one of the year’s most moving dramas. Here was a show that saw the ugliness in its characters...
