Gerhard Gouws (Gert Stephanus Gouws)
Gerhard is a Producer of long-form and episodic entertainment material. South African born, he moved to Canada in 2008. Before relocating to Canada he made Brand name Television Commercials in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Gerhard's career has spanned several phases. He started as a runner in Commercial Television in South Africa in the 1980's. He quickly found his way into art Direction and became a sought after Art Dept. Coordinator and Art Director in Commercials in the 80's and 90's. He formed Spinfilm PTY. Ltd. a TV Commercial Production company with Dean Fourie in 2006. The two made some fun, award winning and commercially valuable work before Gouws left to pursue a new interest. In 2007 he formed along with Christen Iversen "Generalpost South Africa". This powerhouse quickly became the go-to destination for quality freelance Editors and Editorial talent. It is still the pre-eminent Freelance agent for Post Production talent in Sub Saharan Africa. Gouws currently (2013) resides in Toronto. He works on Feature Films, Short films and TV Shows. He loves dogs and hates housework.
