- Producer
Writer-director K.C. Conway has been telling stories since he was five years old. Inspired by seeing Star Wars as a child, K.C. embarked on a life-long journey to become a filmmaker. His talents first emerged in high school, and later college at the University of California Santa Cruz, where he wrote and directed numerous short films and helmed two short features, one of which debuted to a sold out premiere screening and was lauded privately by industry insiders as "an outstanding microbudget achievement."
Over the next few years, K.C. continued improving his craft with 3 more short films, all of which screened at international festivals including Palm Springs, Santa Cruz, and Los Angeles, and worked tirelessly in the film industry as a production assistant on countless indie movies. He also trained heavily in post production, first as an editing assistant to Academy Award winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan and Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker Roko Belic, and later cut his teeth as a freelance sound editor, colorist, and assistant editor for indie filmmakers, Universal Studios, and Discovery. In 2020, K.C. opened an independent post production company C4 Studios, dedicated to working solely on microbudget films and serving the indie community.
Since opening, C4 Studios has worked on dozens of award-winning feature films, shorts, documentaries, and webseries. Many of the studio's clients have gone on to screen at major festivals like Sundance, Berlinale, Palm Springs International, NYFF, Dances With Films, and more, and other films have been distributed internationally for major streamers like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Tubi.
As a filmmaker, K.C. strives to make films that take risks, break barriers, and move cinema forward, and is not afraid to innovate or change the entire filmmaking process in order to achieve his vision.
