In an interview with Hindustan Times, Ricky Kej said, “A medical procedure was being advocated by a celebrity with tremendous influence. It was going into dangerous territory because this particular medical treatment could also be life-threatening. It was quite irresponsible (on her part), simply because she is talking about something that is life-threatening.”

Indian filmmaker Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran‘s next film “Papa Buka” will commence principal photography in Papua New Guinea in July. The film will follow Indian historians Romila and Anand who go to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to write a book about the Indian soldiers who fought with the British and Australian armies against the Japanese during WWII in the country. They find 80-year-old war veteran Papa Buka who serves as a guide to take them to remote jungle villages to meet his compatriots and record their reminiscences of the war. The journey throws up some unexpected events.

In 2020, Rahman released her first single, “Farishton,” composed and produced by her father, Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire”). New Delhi, Aug 15 (Ians) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appreciated Indian music composer and Grammy Award Winner Ricky Kej for an instrumental rendition of the national anthem with the 100-member British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London recently.

“Wonderful. It will certainly make every Indian proud,” the Prime Minister wrote on X, formerly twitter, in response to Ricky’s post.

Ricky, in his post, wrote: “A few days ago, I conducted a 100-piece British orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to perform India’s National Anthem at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, London.”

Indian music composer Ricky Kej has won his third Grammy award for his 2021 music album Divine Tides.

The US-born musician shared the award with Stewart Copeland, the drummer of British rock band The Police, who collaborated with him on the album.

On Sunday (5 February), Kej and Copeland won an award in the Best Immersive Audio Album category, beating other nominees such as Jaycen Joshua, Mike Piacentini, Jim Anderson and Morten Lindberg.

The two won a Grammy in the Best New Age Album category for the same album last year.

The Telugu language film Rrr on Tuesday (10 January) won the Best Song award for the hit single “Naatu Naatu,” beating the likes of Taylor Swift and Rihanna.

Indian filmmaker Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran has completed post-production on his latest work, Malayalam-language film “Adrishya Jalakangal” (“Invisible Windows”).

The film is headlined by Tovino Thomas, star of Netflix superhero film “Minnal Murali,” Nimisha Sajayan (“The Great Indian Kitchen”) and Indrans (“Home”). It explores events that occur when a window into a metaphysical realm that exists beyond human reality opens for an individual. The music is by two-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej.

Damodaran, known popularly as Dr. Biju, is well-known on the Indian and international film festival circuit. His films have been honored at India’s National Film Awards thrice. Exclusive: Indian Two Time Grammy Award composer and environmentalist Ricky Kej has signed to compose the original music for American-Bangladeshi writer-director Asif Akbar’s spy action-thriller Mr-9 featuring Frank Grillo as a villain.

Based on the popular Masud Rana novels written by late novelist Qazi Anwar Hussain, top Bangladeshi actor Abm Sumon stars as secret agent Rana – code name Mr-9 – of the Bangladesh Counter Intelligence Agency. Grillo plays his evil nemesis, Roman Ross.

The film was shot over the summer in the U.S. and Bangladesh and is now in post-production.

Variety understands that some 400 attendees are winging their way from India, and that French embassies across the country were working at capacity to issue visas.

New Delhi, Dec 1 (Ians) Amid all the noise about snubs and transparency, there are a few Indian tunes that have struck the right note at the Grammy Award nominations this year.

This is not the first time that Indian classical music has got recognition by the Recording Academy. A peek into the past would highlight that music rooted deep in Indian culture and ethos did win accolades in the oast -- Zakir Hussain, Ricky Kej and Ravi Shankar being shining examples.

This year, sitar player Anoushka Shankar's album "Love Letters" has been nominated in the Best Global Music Album category. Singer Shilpa Rao has collaborated with Anoushka for the musical chapter.

Taking to his Instagram account to post the picture which showed a smiling Rajinikanth holding up Ar Rahman’s daughter Khatija when she was a toddler. The picture was taken 21 years ago, in 1999, when the music director was working on Padaiyappa, Rajinikanth’s hit film. Grammy Award-winning Indian musician and environmentalist Ricky Kej's "My Earth Songs" has been nominated for The Un Sdg Action Awards. Kej's "My Earth Songs" project has been nominated as a finalist from over 2000 entries from organisations and individuals from 142 countries. The winner will be announced on May 2nd at a special awards ceremony to be held at the Sdg Global Festival of Action in Bonn, Germany. Kej will be attending the ceremony.

Kej's "My Earth Songs", which are 27 children's rhymes, is a set of songs based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).?

These songs highlight the needs of the planet, and the action that the people of this planet need to take to correct the imbalances and ensure a clean, green planet for generations to come.?

It aims at enlightening the young through music, igniting in them that spark - to be responsible and spread awareness among their peers and everyone they interact with.
