With over 15 years in the entertainment industry, Darrell Faria is a triple threat: director, writer, and actor. He has 2 personal Canadian Screen Award nominations (2016, 2022) and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination (2015). His directorial work has won many Canadian Screen Awards (from 2019 to present) as well as T.O. Webfest awards (2020) and the award for "Best Comedy Pilot" at T.O. Sketchfest presented by CBC (2020). Some of his director credits include: THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES (CBC), THE GREAT CANADIAN POTTERY THROWDOWN (CBC), TALLBOYZ (CBC), ROAST BATTLE CANADA (Bell Media) and BIT PLAYAS (CBC). Darrell has written for TALLBOYZ, HOT WHEELS (Mattel) (with views in the multi-millions), a BIPOC-centred rom-com (Tubi) and interstitial sketches for The Canadian Screen Awards. He has completed The Second City Writer's Conservatory and has developed/mounted his own classes: "Process and POV: Creating Meaningful Characters in a Digital Space" and "T.O. Sketchfest Shoot-At-Home Production Kit". As an actor, Darrell was the head instructor at the Mississauga Youth Theatre for 5 years while studying in school as filmmaker. Darrell is most recently working as a director on WINNIPEG COMEDY FESTIVAL, 22 MINUTES and a (UNTITLED) Crave Original documentary about the longest running BIPOC comedy show in Canada!
