Gerry McLaughlin was born in Rutherglen, Glasgow, Scotland on 13th February 1981. He changed his name from 'Gerard' to 'Gerry' after moving to Manchester to attend University in 2000. It was while pursuing a career as a rock singer and TV presenter that he was cast in Channel 4's Shameless and The Accused. This lead to several theatre roles and eventually a move back to Scotland, where he attracted attention in popular BBC comedies such as Burnistoun, Still Game, Only An Excuse? and Scot Squad. A stand-up comedian, he has performed back to back sell out shows at the Glasgow Comedy Festival.
He has also been able to showcase his dramatic talents in The Crash, From Darkness, Outlander, Swung and Agatha Raisin.
