If Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) was hoping that the backlash to his public disdain for childless women was isolated to the hyper-online, op-ed reading left, he underestimated how badly he screwed up.
According to a new University of Massachusetts Amherst survey, the results of which were provided exclusively to Rolling Stone, 51 percent of Americans strongly disagree with the idea that Kamala Harris not having biological children hinders her ability to serve as president. As Democrats continue their rhetorical strategy of trash-talking Donald Trump, running mate J.D. Vance, and other “weird” and “creepy” conservative policymakers attempting to thrust the country into the dark ages, the former president has become increasingly furious at the messaging overtaking media outlets and internet memes.
During a Thursday interview with conservative radio host Clay Travis, Trump attempted to reverse the criticism and said that Democrats were “the weird ones.” He insisted, “Nobody’s ever called me weird. I’m a lot of things, but weird I’m not. And I’m upfront.

Donald Trump chose J.D. Vance as his running mate largely as a signal of confidence in his own ability to retake the White House, but in the days following the Republican National Convention, Vance’s record has acted as anvil for the campaign — and a magnifying glass for concerns about a second Trump presidency. Nowhere is this more apparent than on issues related to reproductive rights and abortion access.

Donald Trump said Sunday that letting states craft their own abortion bans — thanks to a ruling by his conservative Supreme Court appointees — is “going to work out incredibly well.”
As of Monday, abortion is now almost entirely banned in 18 states, now that Iowa’s six-week ban on abortions took effect, all but totally cutting off access to the procedure in the state.
The ban, which originally passed in 2023, was approved by the Iowa legislature amid large protests. The legislation bans the termination of a pregnancy after the detection of a “detectable fetal heartbeat,...

Earlier this week, the Copernicus Climate Change Service, a European Union-funded research group, announced that last Sunday, July 21, 2024, the daily global average temperature hit 62.76 degrees. It was the hottest day scientists have measured since 1940 — which officially makes it the hottest day ever recorded on Earth by humans. Twenty four hours later, however, Copernicus had to update its report: On Monday, the temperature climbed up to 62.87 degrees. As of now, July 22, 2024 is now the hottest day ever recorded.

J.D. Vance spoke to the nation for the first time as former President Donald Trump’s running mate on Wednesday, headlining the third night of the Republican National Convention.
Vance began his speech by praising Trump’s resilience following the assassination attempt against him on Saturday, suggesting as he did then that Democratic rhetoric was to blame for the shooting. “I want all Americans to go and watch the video of a would-be assassin coming a quarter of an inch from taking his life,” he said. “Consider the lies they told you about Donald Trump,...

Huma Abedin, former top aide to Hilary Clinton, is getting married to Alex Soros, son of billionaire political activist George Soros.
Abedin, 47, and Soros, 38, announced their engagement on Wednesday via Instagram. They posted a photo of Soro getting down on one knee with a scenic backdrop.
“This happened… We couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love,” the caption said.
The couple met during the fall of 2023 at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Soros proposed to Abedin in New York City in May. The couple recently traveled to Italy for a formal celebration.
This will not be Abedin’s first marriage. The MSNBC contributor was married to former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-New York) from 2010 to 2017. She filed for divorce after Weiner pleaded guilty to transmitting explicit content to a minor in May of 2017. The ex-couple shares one child, a 12-year-old son, Jordan.

Exclusive: Abramorama has acquired North American theatrical distribution rights to the Michael Douglas-narrated documentary America’s Burning, directed by bestselling writer David Smick and produced by Ian Michaels. The film will hit theaters July 12.
America’s Burning follows the U.S. economy’s journey over time as the country has been a massive wealth-creating machine, but only half of the country has access to the markets. Capitalism has, as James Carville put it, become “a racket” — the ultimate corporate insider’s club, a system centrally controlled by the well-connected few. The middle class is shrinking, and the American Dream’s promise of social mobility for all who work hard is dying. However, America has an impressive history of resilience, and the film shows why our best days could still lie ahead. Watch a trailer below.

On Sunday, Politico published a story suggesting that foundations tied to several top Democratic donors have been funding the pro-Palestine protest groups dogging President Joe Biden wherever he goes. “Pro-Palestianian protesters are backed by a surprising source: Biden’s biggest donors,” read the headline.
The story quickly went viral — Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), for instance, posted on X that the piece confirmed “anti-Israel astroturfing.” Fox News cited the report to write that “President Biden’s biggest Democratic donors are also funding some anti-Israel protests that have taken over college campuses.

The Audacy streaming radio app appears on a smartphone.
A federal judge in Texas has signed off on Audacy’s plan to restructure a majority of its debt, a move that will allow the radio broadcast giant to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the near future.
As part of the plan, Audacy will divvy up around $1.6 billion in debt among its creditors, bringing its overall debt load from $1.9 billion to a more-manageable $350 million.
The plan will also see a George Soros-backed investment fund acquire around $400 million in debt, which the group will swap for stock in Audacy, as reported by The Desk and other publications last week.
“Today’s announcement marks a powerful step forward for Audacy, positioning the Company for an exciting future,” David Field, the Chairman and CEO of Audacy, said in a statement on Tuesday. “As expected, we have achieved a speedy confirmation of our prepackaged plan,...

Roseanne Barr Shocks Crowd With Unhinged Rant Against ‘Communists’ & Supporting Trump At AmericaFest
Comedian Roseanne Barr made controversial statements when she appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Arizona.
At the event, described by the conservative group as a celebration of constitutional rights and freedoms, Barr took the stage and expressed her support for former President Donald Trump.
“I just wanna say that I’m just all in,” she started. “Because I know if I ain’t all in, they’re going to put my a– in a gulag. If he loses, I know what they’re gonna do.”
Barr continued, “And I don’t wanna go to a re-education camp and have to give all my money to a bunch of losers that never know how [to] get a job. I don’t care about them.”
“If we don’t stop these horrible communists, do you hear me? I’m asking you to hear me!… Stalinists! Communists! With a huge helping of Nazi fascists thrown in.

Turning Point USA — the far-right, Christian nationalist group run by Charlie Kirk — is kicking off its annual AmericaFest in Phoenix on Saturday. Tpusa bills AmericaFest as a bash for “like-minded” conservatives to celebrate “the greatest country in the world, America.”
But in addition to patriotism, many of the gala’s headliners appear to be of like mind about something much darker: a distrust, distaste, or outright hatred of Jewish people. The celebration comes on the heels of Kirk himself having been called out by prominent conservatives for creating “an anti-Semite problem” for the right.

If you ask advocates for abortion rights where the most critical elections will be this November, they’re likely to name four states: Ohio, the site of a high-stakes referendum; Virginia, the last state in the South where abortion remains widely accessible (and where the governor has promised to “gleefully” ban the practice if his party gains control of the legislature); Kentucky, where the most outspoken advocate of the state’s near-total abortion ban is running against a pro-choice Democrat; and Pennsylvania, where a key seat on the Supreme Court is on the line.

In an innovative move, the production will feature 18 pieces of original artwork by Zapata that will be sold as Fine Art pieces and NFTs.
Last year, Zapata’s work Mona Lisa Bull Fighter sold for a personal £1 million record at a charity auction in St. Barts, in which Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly outbid.
Spanish-born, New York-based painter Zapata is known for his lavish lifestyle, film star girlfriends and celebrity collectors, such as DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and George Soros.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ much-hyped campaign launch was a shitshow, largely due to technical issues from Elon Musk’s Twitter Spaces. Donald Trump seemed to relish his opponent’s disastrous 2024 rollout, taking to Truth Social to mock the Florida governor while posting a pair of new attack ads. “Wow! The DeSanctus Twitter launch is a Disaster!,” the former president wrote. “His whole campaign will be a disaster. Watch!”
Trump also trolled DeSantis by congratulating Tim Scott for having “by far the best Presidential launch of the week,” while calling DeSantis’ a “catastrophe,...

San Francisco, May 17 (Ians) After billionaire George Soros sold his entire stake in Tesla, Elon Musk has slammed the investor, saying he wants to erode the very fabric of civilisation and “hates humanity.”
Soros’s family office, Soros Fund Management, had a total of 132,000 shares which capitalised on Tesla’s impressive 68 per cent jump in value this year, and the family office sold off its entire stake in the first quarter of 2023, according to Insider.
Soros Fund Management is the principal asset manager for the Open Societies Foundations, which Soros founded. He has donated most of the money from his hedge fund to his Open Societies Foundations.
Meanwhile, Tesla stock is up about 35 per cent so far this year, after nosediving about 65 per cent in 2022.

Speaking to CNBC’s David Faber on Tuesday, Elon Musk refused to walk back comments he made recently about billionaire investor George Soros that critics, including the Anti-Defamation League, have noted are full of antisemitic tropes.
Musk, as usual, relied on his familiar claim that he is a defender of “free speech,” and stood by the remarks. He also denied any antisemitic intent, describing himself as “like a pro-semite.” Ironically, earlier in the conversation Musk repeatedly denied that the neo-Nazi who committed the mass shooting in Allen, Tx on May 6 was a white supremacist.
But first, Soros. On Monday Musk, apparently angry that Soros’ investment firm recently dumped every share of Tesla it owned, compared Soros to the Marvel Comics character Magneto. Journalist Brian Krassenstein replied to Musk, pointing out that like Magneto, Soros is a holocaust survivor who is “attacked nonstop for his good intentions which some Americans think...

Elon Musk sat down with CNBC’s David Faber for an interview where he declared he doesn’t give a shit if his tweets damage his companies.
Musk has spent the last several weeks tweeting and boosting unfounded conspiracy theories about mass shootings, George Soros, and migrants. But in his mind, he is like Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, telling his enemies that they can “offer me money, offer me power,” but I “don’t care.”

Elon Musk defended his propensity to step into divisive debate and even in advancing conspiracy theories, telling CNBC, “I’ll say what I want to say, and if the consequences of that is losing money, I’ll say it.”
The network’s David Faber sat down with Musk and asked the Twitter owner and Tesla CEO about a specific tweet about billionaire George Soros, in which he wrote, “Soros reminds me of Magneto.” He wrote that Soros “wants to erode the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity.”
Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, wrote that Musk was feeding into antisemitic tropes by comparing Soros to a Jewish supervillain. Soros is a frequent target on the right.
“That’s my opinion,” Musk told Faber.
The CNBC host then pressed him. “Why share it when people who buy Teslas may not agree with you? Advertisers on Twitter may not agree with you?...

George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist often the target of antisemitic conspiracy theories, recently sold all of his Tesla stock after having pumped tens of millions of dollars into Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company. Musk lobbed a characteristically lame attack at Soros Monday night. “Soros reminds me of Magneto,” he wrote, referring to the Marvel supervillain.
Musk wasn’t done. After it was pointed out that both Soros and Magneto survived the Holocaust and that Soros “gets attacked non-stop for his good intentions,” Musk objected: “You assume they are good intentions.

Calls to protest George Soros and refugees. Far-right Twitter screeds about immigrants. New Europe Observation sounds like a far-right extremely online news outlet. But it’s actually a front group for a Chinese propaganda network that’s borrowing tactics from Russia’s infamous 2016 troll farm.
Social media giant Meta announced on Wednesday that it had booted 107 accounts in a China-linked network behind the phony news outlet dubbed the New Europe Observation. The outlet, which Meta researchers say was linked to a Chinese technology company, appeared aimed at trying to stir up unrest in European countries.

New Delhi, April 23 (Ians) Famous American author Stephen King has said that Elon Musk should give his Blue check mark to charity.
Despite King not wanting to have a Blue verified check mark, the Twitter CEO has “paid” for his Blue badge.
“I think Mr Musk should give my blue check to charity. I recommend the Prytula Foundation, which provides lifesaving services in Ukraine. It’s only $8, so perhaps Mr. Musk could add a bit more,” King said in his latest tweet.
Chaos prevailed on Twitter last week when Musk removed all legacy verified accounts with Blue check marks but allowed some celebrities to retain it.
“I am paying for a few personally,” said Musk. “Just William Shatner, LeBron James and Stephen King,” he added.
King had tweeted: “My Twitter account says I’ve subscribed to Twitter Blue. I haven’t. My Twitter account says I’ve given a phone number.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s “field hearing” in New York City over violent crime — an attempted clapback against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s recent indictment of Donald Trump — got off to a chaotic start on Monday. It didn’t get better from there.
As the hearing began, members of the public who were denied access shouted at cops and sundry congressional staffers outside the meeting room, demanding admittance. “Let the public in! Let the public in!” the crowd shouted, moving away from their orderly line along the...

Republicans are rallying around Daniel Perry, a man convicted of murdering Black Lives Matter protester Garrett Foster in 2020. On Monday night, Foster’s actions got a resounding endorsement from the most notorious protest shooter in recent memory: Kyle Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s proposal to pardon Perry, citing his belief that Perry acted in self-defense. Rittenhouse himself was acquitted in 2021 of homicide charges related to the deaths of two men he shot and killed during BLM protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

After a day of historic indignity — spent getting booked and arraigned at a Manhattan courthouse — former president Donald Trump retreated to his safe space, Mar-a-Lago, where he delivered an embittered televised address to the nation.
Trump entered his ballroom to the strains of Lee Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to be an American.” The crowd chanted “USA! USA!” as he took the podium in front of a backdrop of American flags, ready to reassert himself after a day of powerlessness in court.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg laid out his case against former President Donald Trump at a press conference shortly after Trump’s arrest and arraignment.
Trump turned himself over to authorities at Manhattan’s criminal courthouse on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to 34 first-degree felony charges of falsifying business records. Bragg emphasized that the charges aren’t simply about a single 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
“That is exactly what this case is about: 34 false statements made to cover up other crimes,” he said. “These...

Former President Donald Trump has reportedly raised over $4 million dollars in the 24 hours after his indictment. On Thursday night, a Manhattan grand jury voted to bring criminal charges against Trump for his role in a 2016 hush money payment — the first such charges against a former president in American history.
“President Trump Raises Over $4 Million In 24 Hours After Indictment In Alvin Bragg Witch Hunt,” read a campaign email, which touted that a quarter of donations had come from first-time contributors.

Trump has been indicted, and the GOP reaction to criminal charges against the former president has come with a hefty side of antisemitic conspiracy-mongering.
Virtually everyone in right-wing politics — from lawmakers, to political pundits, to the former president himself — has accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of being a George Soros-funded puppet prosecutor. The connection is pretty weak.
On Friday, Soros gave a rare rebuke of attempts to link him to progressive prosecutors, stating that he neither knew Bragg nor donated to his election campaign. “As a matter of...
