Against a backdrop of rural poverty, Joe Stephenson’s heart-wrenching drama heads for a climax sticky with violence and horrible secrets
Somewhere in what would seem to be East Anglia, judging by the road names, two brothers live together in a fetid caravan. Older brother Polly (Morgan Watkins), a bad-tempered thug, does the bare minimum to look after the younger Richard (Scott Chambers) who has learning difficulties but a gentle soul. Richard’s only friend is his pet chicken Fiona, a docile bantam he takes everywhere, until he makes friends with new neighbour Annabel (Yasmin Paige, from Submarine).

Steve Oram offered horror and laughs in equal measure as the homicidally angry Chris in Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers. For a future film, he’s planning to cut out even the dark comedy and focus solely on the horror, as he’s set to star in Its Walls Were Blood alongside Edward Hogg and Pollyanna McIntosh.Blood, a title that reads like the worst ever TripAdvisor hotel review, is planned as a portmanteau film with four stories set in the same house. The writer/directors – Sean Hogan, Paul Hyett, Tom Shankland and Paul Davis – will chronicle the haunted residence’s dark history from the 19th century to the present day.Conner Chapman, Ruth Bradley, Rosie Day, Sam Gittins, Scott Chambers and Belinda Stewart-Wilson make up the rest of the cast for the horror, which should be cranking its cameras later this year.Oram is also part of the cast for...

The producer on Brittany Murphy's last film has said the late actress looked 'ill' and 'underweight'. Scott Chambers, who was working on Abandon with Murphy, said: 'She looked ill, as much as 10 pounds underweight, and she's a small person to begin with. She easily could have made an excuse not to come to work, but she didn't. She said, 'I've got to get better, but I want to do this part'.' Murphy's husband Simon Monjack said she spent the day before she died sick with laryngitis but was able to rest in bed with him, watching three movies. He revealed she had a minor prolapsed mitral valve or heart murmur that did not warrant medication.

Producer: 'Murphy Looked Ill Over The Summer'
Producer Scott Chambers worried tragic actress Brittany Murphy was too ill to work over the summer after turning up on the set of Abandon looking skinny and frail.
The psychological thriller was one of the Clueless star's final projects before she suffered a fatal cardiac arrest on Sunday, aged just 32.
An autopsy was carried out on Monday but the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Murphy's husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, insisted the actress had not been taking any dangerous drugs prior to her passing, but revealed she had been diagnosed with a non-life-threatening heart murmur and had battled laryngitis earlier this year.
Chambers admits he was concerned about Murphy's wellbeing during filming, but she assured him she was fine and completed the job with no problems.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "She looked ill, as much as 10 pounds underweight, and she's a small person to begin with.
"She easily could have made an excuse not to come to work, but she didn't. She said, 'I've got to get better, but I want to do this part.'"
However, Murphy's designer pal Tiffany Saidnia insists the actress was in good health and she's struggling to accept the star is dead - because "there was nothing wrong with her".
Saidnia can't understand how the star could suddenly drop dead because she appeared perfectly healthy when she made her final public appearance at Saidnia's fashion party in Los Angeles on 3 December.
She tells Life & Style magazine, "I'm shocked by this news - there was nothing wrong with her.
"Brittany was such a sweetheart, I'm deeply saddened about this. She was such a sincere person and wanted the best for everyone around her. She's gone too soon."...
