Johannes Pääsuke was born on 30 March 1892 in Dorpat, Governorate of Livonia, Russian Empire [now Tartu, Estonia]. He was a director and cinematographer, known for Karujaht Pärnumaal (1914), Utotskini lendamised Tartu kohal (1912) and Journey Through Setomaa (1913). He died on 8 January 1918 in Orsha, Mogilev Governorate, Russia [now Belarus].
