Kasey Kahne was born in Enumclaw, Washington on April 10, 1980. Kasey
became interested in racing at a young age. His father, Kelly Kahne,
owned several sprint cars. Kasey loved spending time at local dirt
tracks. When he was 18, Kasey began racing full-size sprint cars. In
2002, Kasey signed with Robert Yates racing, and ran in the NASCAR
Busch Series. He best finish that year was 10th, at Michigan
International Speedway. He got his first Busch Series win in 2003, at
Homestead-Miami Speedway. In that same year, Kasey was chosen to
replace Bill Elliott and drive for the No. 9 Dodge for Ray Evernham and
Evernham Motorsports. He was excited about this opprotunity and
accepted the role of a full-time driver. In 2004, he was named as
NASCAR's Rookie Of The Year. He was driving for both the Busch Series
and the Nextel Cup Series. He captured his first Nextel Cup win on May
14, 2005 at Richmond International Speedway. His career has been moving
up hill since then. To date, Kasey has had 33 Top-10 finishes, 24 Top-5
finishes, and 5 wins. 4 of those wins have been in the 2006 season, the
most wins this season so far. On May 28, 2006 Kasey captured the
Coca-Cola 600, his third win of the season. Kasey had stopped Jimmie
Johnson's 3 season streak at that track. Kasey's NASCAR career is
running smoothly, and he's loving every minute of it, especially since
he has his family around him...on and off track.
