Bulent Polat was born on March 8th 1980, in Tunceli, Turkey. He moved
to Istanbul in 1987 because his brother accepted in Law school in the
University of Istanbul. He had his elementary, secondary, high school,
and art school education in Istanbul. Later he started to work
voluntarily as an usher in Bakirkoy Municipality Theater (BBT) in 1992
where the stage director chose him to play in the children's plays on
the stage. His first role in his acting career was 'Sokak Kedisi'
(Street Cat) in 1993. It was a remarkable performance that he was
offered to play in other children's plays after that. One of those
plays was called 'Ormanlarin Baris Atesi' (Forest's Peace Fire) in
which he played that year. Because he brought all his talent and
commitment to every rehearsal and actual plays, directors and managers
of the theater company wanted him to play in adult plays on
professional level. Therefore he got his first professional role, which
was 'Ayy Hitler'. After this performance in 1995, he got another offer
from Maltepe Art Theater (MST). He played in leading roles of three
plays in this company which were called 'Yesil Dunya' (Green World),
'Masal' (Fairy Tale) and 'Beyaz Cehennem' (White Hell).
In 1999, he returned back to his first theater company (BBT) where he got the position of Assistant Director(AD) in the play 'Keloglan'. Then he acted in 'Rumuz Goncagul' which is one of the best theater productions in Turkey. He was also offered by one of the well-known television channels to play in TV series called 'Yilan Hikayesi'.
Because television was more popular than theater those days, it took Bulent one step ahead that he got offers from theater companies for many plays. One of them takes such an important role in his life that came from Sadri Alisik Theater (SKM) and the play was called 'Herkesin Gozu Onunde' (In front of Everyone's Eyes), which was directed by Orhan Oguz, who is an award winner in Cannes Film Festival. With the same theater company, he got the leading role for the play 'Efsaneler' (Legends). Meanwhile he got roles in TV shows and series which were; 'Dadi' (Nanny), 'Lahmacun ve Pizza', 'Estagfurullah Yokusu' and most valuably 'Avrupa Yakasi' which was the turning point of his life that it was the most popular series in Turkey. While working for stage and television, Bulent had been studying Stella Adler technique for many years that finally he decided to take his acting career to international standards. His dreams came true that he accepted to the Stella Adler Acting School in LA in 2008. He recently graduated and moved to New York City to work as an international actor.
