- Joe Kubert was born on September 18, 1926 in Jezierzany, Tarnopolskie, Poland [now Ozeryany, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine]. He was a writer, known for They Spoke Out: American Voices Against the Holocaust (2010), G.I. Joe: Sgt. Savage and His Screaming Eagles: Old Soldiers Never Die (1994) and The Legends Behind the Comic Books (2007). He was married to Muriel Fogelson. He died on August 12, 2012 in Morristown, New Jersey, USA.
