Paris -- State-run French film promotion organization Unifrance named Antoine de Clermont Tonnerre its new president Thursday.
Tonnerre, who was elected by a 48-member governmental committee, succeeds former president Margaret Menegoz.
Tonnerre served as counselor to Prime Minister Raymond Barre, then headed French production society the Sfp before founding his own production company MacT Prods. in 1992.
