We are living through a critical time, and are witness to a systemic and international backslide on womens rights and gender equality. Misogynistic and patriarchal forces endeavour to flex their muscles attacking and repealing milestones reached through decades of advocacy and protest.

For the last six months the world has anxiously watched what seems like a civil war between the people of #Iran -led by women and a brutal military dictatorship. At the end of 2022 the Taliban banned women from attending university and working in NGOs - only the most recent step in an alarming rollback on womens rights in Afghanistan. Earlier in the year sexual violence rates grew in Ethiopias conflict. Women in and fleeing Ukraine are increasingly vulnerable to sexual and gender-based violence, access to sexual health is under assault in the U.S and we are only just beginning to properly understand the COVID-19 pandemics lasting impact on womens entitlements.

#WomanLifeFreedom has become a rallying cry. We will continue to scream for women - we will continue to scream for life and we will continue to scream for freedom.

RISE

Yasaman Mohsani is a Award winning, British-Iranian Actress. She was born in Iran, immigrated to the UK at the age of 6 and is now based in London, England. Breaking through with multiple high profile projects in 2022 - in her first year within the Film/ TV industry, she can be recognized for playing: 'Naza' in Gangs of London, the lead 'Ella' in feature Everyone for award winning director Marcus Flemmings - for which she has received 4 'Best Actress' Award wins at international film festivals and a nomination for 'Best Debut' (newcomer) from the Punjabi Film Awards 2022 for female lead role 'Yaza' in Aaja Mexico Challiye.

In 2023, Yasaman played lead role in short film 'Rise' honoring the humanitarian movement 'Woman, Life, Freedom' - whilst her role in Secret Invasion by Marvel Studios Streaming Series will be released on Disney +.

Yasaman studied at the National Youth Theatre, Identity School of Acting & The Actors Temple (Meisner technique).
