The renewal is not surprising, given the series’ ratings success. Season-to-date, Will Trent is a top performer across both linear and streaming, and is gaining ratings momentum among adults across all platforms, up each week since its second-season premiere on February 20. The sophomore drama recently reached its highest rated episode ever on March 5, delivering 9.02 million total viewers in seven-day metrics. The series, which airs the finale for its first season Tuesday, May 2, has emerged as No. 1 new drama this season both among total viewers with 9.9 million viewers on average and among adults 18-49 with an average 1.65 after 35 days of viewing across linear and digital platforms.

Not always empirically good, but better than the bland title and awful opening sequence might lead you to suspect, ABC’s Will Trent quickly emerges as an above-average broadcast TV procedural — even if it’s exactly those structural trappings that so frequently undermine it.

As middlebrow popular lit adaptations go, Will Trent delivers a distinctive main character and leading performances, a promising ensemble and — based off the first two episodes — it appears easily capable of appealing to the same audience that found comfort in Netflix’s Lincoln Lawyer and Amazon’s Reacher.

Will Trent emerged as an early front-runner in what ABC calls “second cycle” as part of its year-round development strategy. There was a small hiccup in the final stretch, which I hear was over the nature of storytelling, but the pilot remained on track for a pickup. In anticipation of a series order, writers have been working on scripts for the past three weeks. Decision on ABC’s other strong second cycle drama contender, The Company You Keep starring Milo Ventimiglia, has not been made yet. Sweetwater, the dusty old town at the heart of HBO’s Westworld series, may be marketed as a self-contained haven where fantasies become reality. But there are times when things don’t go according to plan, often resulting in a dark series of events that stem from Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins).

This time, it involves a missing host, a story arc that will play out in full with the premiere of “The Stray,” the third installment of Westworld‘s inaugural season. Included in the gallery above are pics of Elsie and Stubbs plotting course for the outback, while Teddy and Marti (Bojana Novakovic) make tracks in a different direction, potentially putting Dolores in a spot of bother. Once Upon A Time, Season 2, Episode 15: “The Queen is Dead” Written by Daniel T. Thomsen & David H. Goodman Directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on ABC - Drama? Check. Action? Check. Nail-biting suspense? Double check. Once Upon a Time is back after a one week hiatus. It’s strapping us in tight and not holding anything back. The episode brings us to past Enchanted Forest where we are introduced, for the first time, to Snow White’s mother. Another great casting choice by the creators Rena Sofer looks and plays the part of Snow’s mother perfectly. Making us actually believe that she could be Bailee Madison or Ginnifer Goodwin’s mother. The episode mostly focuses on events in Storybrooke and things taking place in New York City with Emma, Henry, Rumplestiltskin and Baelfire. The writers take us on a different journey with this episode, than the last.

Meanwhile, Emma tries to find out what Storybrooke’s new and unexpected visitor is doing in town after Regina finds the man talking to Henry. In the fairy tale world, Snow White and Prince Charming face adversity to their love as the Prince prepares to marry King Midas’s daughter.

The real world usually mirrors the fairy tale, and this week is no different. However, the real world proves more entertaining due to the fact that it takes place in the present.
