Simone Corelli is a film sound engineer and music enthusiast.
He was born in Milan, Italy at the end of 1969. In 1997, after a degree in Information Sciences with a thesis on the correlation between musical perception and acoustics, he moved to Rome where a bizarre destiny carried him into the world of cinematographic sound.
He started out as an expert of Digidesign audio systems (he has been Pro Tools beta tester for five years); after an initial experience as a sound editor he decided to concentrate on mixing film soundtracks.
In 2006, together with Mr Felici and Mr Martinelli, he published the book "Elementi di Cinematografia Sonora", with a foreword by Giuseppe Tornatore and an introduction by Professor Federico Savina.
He teaches audio in masters programmes at various universities, as well as in seminars at private institutions in Italy and Switzerland; he is also a frequent contributor to some technical magazines. He is a board member of the Audio Engineering Society (italian section) of the Associazione Italiana Fonici di Mix (AIFM), and the president of the Gruppo Tematico per la Cinematografia Sonora (GTCS).
He's the author of "Pro Tools in One Hour (coffee break included)", available as a printed book and ebook on Amazon and Apple iBookstore worldwide, and in Italian as paperback only.
