Samm Haillay co-founded Kirlian in 2020. A tech, consultancy and production house Kirlian supported by Creative UK, to develop an assistive tech solution to effective development of future facing cinema.
Previously he founded Third in 2001. Dedicated to the creation of visionary artistic works in cinematic and gallery contexts. Working across narrative and documentary, he has produced multiple features, including Better Things directed by Duane Hopkins, Light Years by Esther May Campbell, Self Made by Gillian Wearing and Island of the Hungry Ghosts by Gabrielle Brady. His films have premiered at Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Tribeca, Toronto and London Film Festivals, and received over 70 international awards and nominations.
Including an Independent Spirit Award Nomination in 2020. In 2013 Third was awarded a BFI Vision Award and Creative Europe slate funding in 2008. In addition, his over shorts have collected over 50 prizes including Berlin, Venice, Edinburgh and Chicago. Samm is a member of BAFTA, EAVE and ACE and delivers mentoring and training through Visions du Reel, Sydney Film Festival, Attagirl, BFI, Feature Expanded, the Venice Biennale College Cinema, Film London, Creative England Rotterdam lab and Locarno Open Doors.
