After finishing his primary education in commerce and with a certified web master degree from 3WI, Alnoor Merchant started his career as a web designer and developer in the late 1990's. His repertoire of website work includes websites of leading Bollywood films like Lagaan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Rang De Basanti, Bend It Like Beckham, Monsoon Wedding, Iqbal, Swades, Jodhaa Akbar, Mangal Pandey - The Rising, Lage Raho Munabhai, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Hungama, Kaminey, Ishqiya to name a few.
Always being amongst the foremost to embrace the rapidly changing digital space, Alnoor Merchant was instrumental in pioneering the first ever movie discussion board for the Bollywood film - Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam way back in the late 1990's. Other firsts to his credit are the introduction of the first ever Bollywood movie website with Silsila Hai Pyar Ka, first ever Bollywood movie blog with Rang De Basanti and first every movie bot with Lage Raho Munnabhai and MSN Messenger.
In the late 1990's Alnoor co-founded the portal MovieTalkies.com which creates Bollywood content and syndicates to MSN India, Yahoo India in the form of daily stories, interviews, features, movie stills, event stills, other imagery, and broadband content. The portal also powers content on the Etisalat mobile network.
From Web Design and Development, Alnoor Merchant got into the Digital Strategy and Media space. Alnoor co-founded the company Epigram Digital Media Pvt.Ltd in the mid 2000's and with Movie Talkies being appointed as the Sole Concessionaire and later Sales House to MSN, initiated digital campaigns for eBay, Xbox, Gillette, Duracel, LIC, HDFC Bank, ShareKhan.com to name a few. The company has also handled the digital space and campaigns for premier Bollywood talent and production houses such as Yash Raj Films, Balaji Motion Pictures, Sony Pictures India, Aamir Khan Productions, Sony Music India, 20th Century Fox, Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, PVR Pictures, Reliance Entertainment, A R Rahman, Ajay Devgn, Himesh Reshammiya, Mukta Arts, Sharad Pawar International School, D Y Patil Group amongst many.
