‘Days of Our Lives’ (Dool) spoilers are excited at the news that Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) will be returning to Salem.
We last saw Bope in 2023 when it was discovered Bo was alive. His run ended when their son Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) shot him when he held a gun on Hope, but had it pointing skyward.
With Bo back in a coma, Hope then took him to a clinic to treat him and the pair were written off the show.
In the minute since, Reckell has said on social media he’ll come back in a second if the writers wanted him back, and now it looks like it’s happening.

While already set to appear in the upcoming 15,000th episode of “Days of our Lives,” releasing later this year on Peacock, Kristian Alfonso will again reprise her role as Hope Brady alongside long-time co-star Peter Reckell, who portrays Bo Brady, for a story arc slated to air next year on the streaming service.
According to TV Insider, which first reported the news, Alfonso and Reckell are actively taping episodes “for a special story arc” that will air in May 2025. The actors last appeared on screen together in April 2023 when Bo fell into a coma after being shot by his son, Shawn (Brandon Beemer). That storyline twist left a sour taste in the mouths of fans and saw current breakdown writer Jamey Giddens take to X (formerly Twitter) to defend now former head writer Ron Carlivati who had been receiving backlash.

‘Days of Our Lives’ (Dool) spoilers consider Salem bizarre, and its quirkiness is part of its unique charm. In this soap, several characters supposedly died at the hands of the Salem Stalker, and they all showed up on a tropical island together.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The Soap Within A Soap
It’s also a show in which the devil possesses half the characters. And Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) has brought people back to life by creating a serum to resurrect the dead. Yet somehow, fans don’t seem to appreciate the beauty and the humor of Body &Soul.
It’s quite surprising because while all soaps make you suspend your disbelief, Days is definitely an exceptionally weird program. And it is wonderful.

Days Of Our Lives fans are not loving the soap within a soap narrative of “Body and Soul”. What started off as a cute love letter to the genre ran its course almost as soon as it began. Now it’s become that whiny ex who keeps asking for one more chance without making any effort to show they can do better.
Thus far, the storyline to revive the fictional defunct soap has served little more purpose than to give a few Salemites career opportunities for which they have no education or experience, provide Deidre Hall a chance to show off her gross inability to play multiple characters, and give fans more Leo shenanigans.

After seven years with Days of Our Lives, Ron Carlivati is out as the head writer. This is a shocking shift in the soap opera and what is an even bigger shocker is that it is effective immediately. According to Deadline, there will be two writers taking over for Carlivati. They will be Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford but his storylines will live on well into early 2025. He has written episodes up until April of next year so fans who have appreciated his writing will get to experience it for nearly another year.

The streak continues for “General Hospital” (1.928 million), which averaged less than two million viewers for the 10th consecutive week and the 16th time this season during the week of June 17-21, 2024. This marks the longest time the show has been below that benchmark.
While the soap improved week-to-week among both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, tying “The View” (2.336 million) in Women 18-49, each with a 0.20 rating, and topping the talk show among Women 25-54 (0.34 rating vs. 0.31 rating), the soap did tie its series low among rounded Women 18-49 (o.2 rating) for the 13th consecutive week, which is the same amount of weeks of ratings lows it took before the show opted to replace its then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2015.
Compared to the same week last year, “General Hospital” is down -194,000 viewers while “The View” gained +31,000 viewers. Additionally, “The View” saw its best performance among Total Viewers since the...

The 2023 writer’s strike wreaked havoc on daytime and primetime scripted TV shows. Dool head writer Ron Carlivati promises more drama, more surprises and more romance once his scripts are airing amid the writer’s strike. Keep reading for more about what to expect.
Writer’s Strike Impact On TV
In May 2023, members of the Writers Guild of America went on strike. Many of the scripted shows for the spring TV season had already been written and filmed ahead of the season finales. However, daytime soap operas run year-round. As the strike dragged out, the networks brought in temporary writers, known as “scabs.”
After 148 days days, the strike finally ended in September 2023. While the writers were back in the writing room, many networks were forced to push back their primetime shows until January 2024 due to lack of scripts.
NBC’s Days of Our Lives was among the scripted shows affected by the strike.

Thanks to last year’s Writers Guild of America strike and Days of our Lives’ unique shooting schedule, head writer Ron Carlivati’s new material will only first begin airing on May 31. Unlike most soaps, which are filmed weeks ahead of the air date, the Peacock-airing drama is seven months ahead, so when Carlivati and his team resumed their official duties in October, the stories were already written well into 2024. “The other shows were able to put it behind them quicker,” begins Carlivati. “For me, as of us talking right now, the [replacement writers’ material] is still airing, so that has been very tough. I’m just very anxious and eager for our stuff to start airing again.” When the strike began in May 2023, Carlivati and his team had written through Thanksgiving. “I think some people think that I left some sort of road map that these people were following, and that is really not true,...

While it was announced in January that “General Hospital” had replaced co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor with new co-head writers Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahey, it looks like Van Etten at least is officially back in the writer’s room at the ABC daytime drama series.
During the Tuesday, May 14 episode, Van Etten’s name appeared in the credits for the first time since mid-March, this time as a breakdown writer.
Savvy fans had an inkling that Van Etten returned to the series when actress Alley Mills let the news slip during a video interview with journalist Michael Fairman in late April.
At the time, Mills was discussing her second consecutive Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series for her portrayal of Heather Webber on the series. She won her first-ever Emmy in December 2023 for her work.

General Hospital is getting a revamp behind the scenes.
It’s been a decade of the same on the ABC soap, with only a few minor changes to the writing and producing team.
Small increments didn’t seem to work for some of the long-time viewers, who have complained about the writing for some of the legacy characters and the rewriting of history to fit the narratives of their current favorites.
Soap Opera Digest broke the news about the head co-writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, being out at General Hospital.
The duo has worked together since 2019, but Chris has been in a co-writing position since 2017. He worked with Shelly Altman after her partner, Jean Passanante, retired. Dan joined Chris in 2019 when Shelly retired.
