Bluey is one of the most beloved animated series of the last decade, and rightfully so. The Australian animated series has dominated our screens since 2018, largely thanks to Disney+, and both kids and adults have been consumed by its sweet and wholesome vibes. However, is it really all that sweet?
One of the show's biggest strengths is how little it panders to the younger audience members paired with how grounded in reality the canine-inhabited Brisbane seems to be. That being said, did Bluey get too real in a favored episode?
Bad dog!: Fans spot racist character in Bluey
In an age of cancel culture and the "woke" movement, it feels like everything on our screens is problematic at some point, but are people genuinely crying racism at something like Bluey? The answer may surprise you.

To say that Bluey is one of the most successful shows on streaming would be a grand and glorious understatement. Even after consuming billions of hours of content, fans are still barking for more.
As Disney and Ludo Studio enter a new partnership, the long-awaited fourth season is all but inevitable, but with over 150 episodes on Disney+, a Bluey binge might sound like a challenge (but it can be done), but here is just a small sampling of what fans should watch before Bluey's return.
"Camping"
Many would argue that Bluey's first season is a bit of a mixed bag. It's cute and cuddly, but it's still kinda finding its identity. However, "Camping" was one of the first instances where the kid gloves came off and viewers got slapped right in the feelings.
Bluey's brief friendship with the French-speaking Jean-Luc was one of the highlights of the entire series.

After the announcement of an upcoming movie and partnership between Disney and Ludo, Bluey buffs around the world are undoubtedly over the moon for the big things coming their way. The Heeler's journey to the big screen was inevitable, especially after some of their best episodes.
The pups and parents all have adventures that stretch far beyond the backyard or the playground, and the way Bluey creator Joe Brumm weaves such imaginative stories certainly makes their games larger than life. Some might even call them... cinematic! After reviewing each season, we've picked the most movie-quality episodes Disney and Ludo should rewatch before the new film.
"The Adventure"
On the surface, it's just Bluey and Chloe playing pretend out in the forest, but "The Adventure" truly lives up to its name. Although it's still obviously a game of make-believe, the way the episode is framed and presented truly gives it a cinematic quality.

Bluey fans around the world are on pins and needles for the new full-length feature film adaptation in 2027, but things are about to change. Although Bluey creator Joe Brumm is devoting all of his time and energy to make the movie great, one development has some fans biting their nails.
Along with the official announcement, it was revealed that Bluey would be getting a CG makeover for the occasion. That's not an uncommon practice for TV show characters making the transition to film, but fans might not need to be so uptight because a redesign has happened before.
All New (and Blue)
Here's what Bluey's official blog says about the future update,
"The CG animated film will be produced by award-winning animation producer Amber Naismith with Richard Jeffery returning to co-direct (’Bluey’ Series 1-3). Joe Brumm will serve as executive producer, alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio,...

Unless you're a hermit forsaking all media outlets, you know who Bluey is. The beloved Australian animated series has absolutely captured fans around the world, but it goes so much deeper than just a mild obsession.
Thanks to a little help from Disney+, the series has reached global acclaim and has been topping the charts for years. Although a previous report showed Bluey toppled by other animated series, the latest Nielsen ratings share a different story.
Bluey Back On Top
Since 2018, Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli have become household names to families (with and without children) everywhere. Things are only going to get bigger and better for the beloved blue dog, as a recent partnership between Ludo and Disney sees the characters making their way to the theme parks, cruise ships, and even a big-screen adaptation.
Of course, being one of the most-watched shows on our screen certainly helps establish Bluey as the top dog.

Big things are happening with Blueynow that The Walt Disney Company has entered a partnership with Ludo. Although we can expect Bluey, Bingo, and all their friends to make their debut at the Disney Parks beginning this January, the big reveal was the announcement of a feature film inspired by our favorite cartoon dog.
While we still have a long while to wait until we even get our first trailer, as the film isn't slated to release until 2027, the fanbase has been predicting a Bluey movie for years. However, now that reality is setting in, it might be time to start thinking seriously about Bluey's future.

Very few cartoon characters have had quite the cultural impact that Bluey has had on our popular culture. Since 2018, the Australian animated series about a playful blue heeler puppy has taken the world by storm. With over 150 episodes, a collection of minisodes,...

Bluey and Bingo might be the poster children for the beloved Australian animated series, but parents Chilli and Bandit have more star power than many might think. Often called a show about parenting that kids can watch too, Mum and Dad play just as much of a role as the two pups.
After Bandit's voice actor and Custard frontman, Dave McCormack, recently had his time in the spotlight, Melanie Zanetti came on CNN with her thoughts about the show and her time behind the mic as Bluey's mum. CNN shares further details in the footage below.

Zanetti has been the voice of Chilli Heeler since the series began, and she continues to maintain the role even after the show's third season. While arguably not as popular as her male counterpart, the actress' involvement has done wonders for the field of animated moms, even...

To say that Bluey has become an absolute sensation since joining Disney+ would be a grand and glorious understatement, but things are about to get bigger and better for our favorite cartoon dog.
Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli saw an absolute boom in 2024, and 2025 is certainly shaping up to be just as grand. That said, this year marked several milestones for both the characters and the series. The Australian animated series has certainly come a long way since episode one, but here are some of the triumphs the show has seen in this year alone.
The Minisodes
After the end of the show's much-anticipated third season, die-hard Bluey buffs were treated to a new miniseries with their favorite characters. While this series was essentially released as a way to breadcrumb fans and tide them over until season 4, it did the show a great service by expanding its world.

By little exaggeration, Bluey is perhaps one of the biggest and most successful animated series within the past decade. Although it's an absolute hit in the show's native Australia, Disney made it a global sensation by including it on Disney+.
Thanks in no small part to Disney's involvement, Bluey, Bingo, and all the rest have become household names. That said, could they still thrive if the House of Mouse has more power?

Big things are on their way for The Walt Disney Company, one of which is a triumphant partnership with Ludo Studios and Bluey creator Joe Brumm. While there was much rejoicing amongst the fans last week, this news might be concealing a big problem for the House of Mouse.
As thrilled as we all are (especially this writer) to see Bluey and Bingo come to the Disney Parks and receive their first official feature-length film, Disney should have done this years ago. Given the recent developments from the studio and the theme parks this year, Disney might actually need Bluey now more than ever.
How Bluey Will Save the Studio
It doesn't take a genius to know that Bluey is one of the most beloved cartoon characters seen in the past decade. However, Ludo owns a tremendous amount of its success thanks to Disney's involvement.

The next couple of years are going to be loaded for Bluey fans everywhere. The little blue pup from Brisbane has had our hearts on a leash since 2018, but could Disney be shaping the future for better or for worse?
Big things are happening for our favorite cartoon dog, and the Heelers' relationship with Disney is going to play a massive role for the foreseeable future of the show. Along with getting her own full-length feature film, Bluey and Bingo are making their way to the Disney Parks. While there was much rejoicing from fans, all magic comes at a price, dearies.
Will Disney Dominate Bluey?
As thrilled as many Bluey buffs were at the reveal of a new film, teasings of season 4, and their arrival at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and the Disney Cruise Line, many are growing concerned as to how much of a role Disney will play in the show's future.

Fans around the world undoubtedly rejoiced after Disney made the official announcement that Bluey and her friends would be trading their backyard in Brisbane for the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line, along with an upcoming feature-length film. However, the Walt Disney Company is far from finished with the beloved blue dog.
As one of the most successful shows on its magical streaming platform, there's no way Disney hasn't been waiting in the wings to get its Mickey mitts on Bluey, but that might not be such a bad thing. However, how will this partnership shape the show?
Bluey Meets the Mouse
Although Disney has played a massive role in bringing Bluey, Bandit, and all the rest to an international audience, the company has mainly played a distributing role in the process. Apart from some scandalous censorship choices Disney really hasn't done anything to alter the experience. However, that's getting ready to change.

If you've been anywhere near social media this week, you know that the Bluey fandom is absolutely having a field day. Not only is the beloved blue heeler and all her canine cohorts getting a full-length feature film, but Bluey, bingo, and all the rest are well on their to Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resort.
Although Bluey's arrival at the Disney parks was inevitable, this marks a big shift for the Heeler family as we know it. As Disney strikes a bargain with Ludo Studio, bigger things are getting ready to hit the beloved series.

One of the most popular animated characters in the world is set to make her debut at Walt Disney World and Disneyland next year: Bluey, the heeler dog and star of the hit Disney+ series Bluey.
The addition of Bluey to the Disney theme parks and Disney Cruise Line comes amid an expanded partnership between Disney and BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC that distributes the popular Australian animated series, and Ludo Studio, which produced the program.
Earlier this week the companies announced that a Bluey movie would arrive on big screens in 2027, with Disney leading distribution. Bluey creator Joe Brumm is writing and directing the film.
The deal is notable because Disney uses its theme parks and cruise ships to highlight its own intellectual property, so featuring a third-party character (albeit one with a following on a Disney platform like Disney+) is unusual, to say the least.

Big things are happening in the world of Bluey this week. Yesterday, fans were told that the beloved Australian animated series is set to get its first full-length feature film in 2027. That's certainly a game-changer for the beloved blue dog, but it also comes with some "trifficult" developments as well.
Along with this major development, two other changes coming down the pipeline might not go over well with the show's immense fanbase. Along with Bluey creator Joe Brumm stepping away from his role on the animated series to focus on the film, it was also announced that the characters are being made over with a "CG" style.

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company today announced the first-ever Bluey movie, which will be based on the Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning animated series.
The new deal sees Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights for the film, which will land in theaters in 2027 under the Disney banner. Following the global theatrical release, the Bluey movie will stream on Disney+.
Written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the film is a Ludo Studio production in collaboration with BBC Studios. Delivering the same charm and humor that made the television series a global phenomenon, the movie will continue the adventures of Bluey, a loveable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her mum, dad and her little sister, Bingo.
“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that.

Disney has made a deal with BBC Studios to make a movie based on animated TV series, Bluey. It’s due out in 2027.
Although aimed at young children, animated TV series Bluey has such well-observed humour and heart that it’s endeared itself to a generation of older viewers as well. In a sign of just how widely-loved the series is, it’s been announced that a film adaptation is in the works – the fruit of a long-in-gestation deal between Disney and BBC Studios.
The Bluey film will be written and directed by the series’ original writer and creator, Joe Brumm, who’s said in a statement that he’s had a concept for a feature in mind for a while.
Brumm said (as published by Deadline), “After some time spent away from the series, working on another project, an old idea resurfaced and before I knew it, I’d...
