Chicago Med opened season 10 with some big changes that included one doctor losing their job! Who got fired? Here's what happened!
Caution: This article contains Spoilers for the Chicago Med season 10 premiere
As the new season opened, the hospital was already down a doctor as Crockett had left for Boston. Ripley was still suspected of beating up Pawel and he and Hana were on a break while poor Charles had broken up with Liliana.
Gaffney Medical was dealing with how another hospital was about to close down, so they'd be getting their patients. That included a young girl with her pediatrician, Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet). The team then got word of a boat crash at Navy Pier, meaning a mass casualty event that caused chaos. It was so wild that even Goodwin had to pitch in as a nurse.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Chicago Med Season 10 premiere “Sink or Swim.”] There’s a new (co-)boss in the Ed in Chicago Med Season 10, and she’s not going to be making friends with some moves she makes—though she doesn’t seem interested in doing so, either! In the time that’s passed since the Season 9 finale, Ripley (Luke Mitchell) has stayed quiet about what he does and doesn’t know about Pawel’s attack; Charles (Oliver Platt) and Liliana (Alet Taylor) have broken up since she thinks Ripley’s guilty of the attack; Crockett (Dominic Rains) has left for Boston; and Ripley and Hanna (Jessy Schram) are on a break (she doesn’t know if it’s “a Ross and Rachel break or a Brad and Angelina break”). A nearby hospital is closing its doors next week—but one of its docs, pediatrician John Frost (Darren Barnet), who endears himself to Maggie...

Chicago Med’s new recruit, Dr. Caitlin Lenox (series regular Sarah Ramos), didn’t waste any time ruffling feathers at the hospital in the Season 10 premiere.
When a mass-casualty accident brings an influx of patients to Gaffney, Lenox shows up for work even though she’s not scheduled to start until the following week. Goodwin doesn’t even have a chance to inform the staff about the new hire before Lenox announces that she’s heading up the Ed. Goodwin clarifies that Lenox will be co-running the department with Archer, who asks how old she is. Lenox fires back, “How old are you?...

Heading into the Chicago Med premiere, we knew it would bring the end of an era with news having broke ahead of the season’s return that Dominic Rains would be leaving the show after five seasons as a series regular.
As promised by showrunner Allen MacDonald, Dr. Marcel’s exit was handled off-screen early in the premiere as we learned that he left Chicago to move to Boston. Disappointing as it might have been to see Dr. Marcel written out of the show in the manner he was, we knew his exit was coming so it wasn’t exactly surprising. What was surprising was that his exit wasn’t the only exit the opening hour of the season brought about.
Just minutes into the season 10 premiere, Liliana broke up with Dr. Charles and we learned that she not only broke things off but had moved out of his place and transferred to another hospital.

Chicago Med, like all NBC shows, had a shortened season 9 due to the Hollywood strikes. It did wrap up in May and season 10 should restore it to its usual 22 episode length. The finale had some big turns so here’s what to remember before season 10 hits and what to expect in the new year!
What happened in the Chicago Med season 9 finale?
Riley and Charles argued over a mentally ill patient, with Charles still distracted by how his girlfriend Liliana’s brother Pawel launched an obviously fraudulent lawsuit against the hospital. Goodwin finally accepted her father Burt was too mentally infirm to remain at home and put him into an assisted living facility. Archer took on a recovering drug addict who’d relapsed, which brought up some bad memories while Maggie and Dr. Johnson were getting closer.
The bigger turn was Crockett distress when a man committed suicide after the...

Chicago Med is in for at least one shakeup when it returns for its 10th season this September, with the departure of Dominic Rains (who plays Dr. Crockett Marcel). But the Season 9 finale cliffhanger left the future of Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) in question. Liliana’s brother, who had previously sued Ripley, was brought into the Ed after being attacked by a masked assailant with a baseball bat. He claimed that Ripley did it. When the police asked if he had anything to say, he shook his head and walked out. Among those watching and wondering why he didn’t say anything was Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram)—and this came as something was finally happening between the two of them. Now, Hannah doesn’t know what to think, says Schram. “She’s very unsettled, very confused,” Schram told TV Insider at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

When you think about the Power Universe and its vast and varied characters, the ones who come to mind first are usually the big players.
Ghost. Tommy. Kanan. Tariq.
A series of men known by one name alone who shaped this Universe and made it into what it is today.
But for every big player, there's someone else beside them, a sidekick, if you will. Or better yet, a partner. Someone who helped them succeed and, for some, caused their eventual downfall.
There are many duos across the original Power and the three spinoffs currently airing, and we decided to look at some of the very best.

Zack Norman, the stand-up comic, actor and producer perhaps best known for his turn as a crocodile-loving antiquities smuggler in Romancing the Stone, has died. He was 83.
Norman died Sunday night of natural causes at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, his family announced.
Norman collaborated frequently with director Henry Jaglom, with the two working together on Tracks (1976), Sitting Ducks (1980), Venice/Venice (1992), Babyfever (1994), Déjà Vu (1997), Festival in Cannes (2001), Hollywood Dreams (2006), Irene in Time (2009), Queen of the Lot (2010), The M Word (2014) and Ovation (2015).
In Robert Zemeckis’ action-adventure Romancing the Stone (1984), starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, Norman and Danny DeVito play the smuggling cousins Ira and Ralph, respectively.
“Look at those snappers,” Ira says in admiration whenever he sees a croc.
(He and Douglas would get into a legal spat over a company that they co-founded.)
Norman also appeared on the big screen in James Toback’s Fingers (1978), Milos Forman...

Maggie's been fighting her feelings for a new guy since her divorce.
Will a horrible accident leave her heartbroken before she can make her next move?
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 10 spoilers suggest a medical crisis could cause her to regret all the time she's wasted being unready to date again after her divorce.
Maggie's been unlucky in life and love for a while.
After meeting Ben during a mutual chemotherapy session, the two lost custody of the foster son they were about to adopt to his biological family, and the new baby they thought they were welcoming to the world instead turned out to be the return of her cancer.
With all that drama, it's no wonder she and Ben had marital problems. I will always hate their split for the sake of drama, but it's understandable considering all the stress they were under throughout their marriage.

Bert's breakdown at Sharon's party was utterly heartbreaking.
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 9 offered a glimpse into the insidious nature of dementia. Bert was only in a few scenes, but his transformation from mostly with it to forgetting he didn't live with Sharon anymore to his grief over realizing his mistake was painfully realistic.
It was an hour filled with tough calls, but that was the scene that got me -- and it wasn't even at the hospital.
Sharon will always share a special bond with Bert even though they've both moved on. It would be less pronounced if he didn't have Alzheimer's and wasn't becoming aggressive during non-lucid moments, but it would be there no matter what.
Sharon knew how to calm Bert down, but it was hard to tell what her new boyfriend thought as she held Bert's hand and sang to him. Logically, there's no reason for Dennis to be jealous.

Was this Easter or Halloween?
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 8 featured several strange or scary events, including one that could get Zola fired.
The stories were so strange that it felt like they had originally been intended for Halloween and had been reworked for Easter. Some of the twists were predictable, yet the entire episode was bizarre.
The most rational story was Pawel's usual nonsense. Pawel is almost always annoying, but his attempt to get pain meds or money felt more like the hospital show tropes we're used to than most of the other plots.
Pawel is always up to no good and has never gotten along with Daniel, so his latest scheme wasn't a surprise -- if anything, it was predictable.
What Exactly Was Pawel Up To?
His scheme was somewhat confusing, though. It seemed obvious that he was trying to score pain meds. He repeatedly asked for them...

It’s been a long wait for NBC’s Chicago Med to return with its 9th Season but with the premiere less than a week away (January 17), Deadline has some juicy nuggets to tease about the show’s return.
In the Season 8 finale, the medical drama said goodbye to Day 1-er Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) who handed in his resignation after finding himself more and more unsettled with the new changes implemented at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center following Jack Dayton’s purchase of the hospital. His main concern was Dayton’s insistence on using the O.R. 2.0. even after a machine error caused the death of a patient and could’ve also claimed Dayton’s life.

The Janus-headed The Facts of Murder looks back to the earlier neorealist docudramas of director, co-writer, and star Pietro Germi, while also presaging the sharply observed satirical outlook of films like Divorce Italian Style and Seduced and Abandoned. In the film, the comedic elements are mostly limited to the broad, almost caricatural handling of bumbling secondary characters. The primary storyline, involving an investigation into two ostensibly related crimes, is handled more like a police procedural along the lines of Jules Dassin’s The Naked City, albeit without that film’s authoritative narration.
The Facts of Murder’s central location is an apartment block. Quickly sketching in a number of characters and their relationships in the aftermath of the opening burglary, the film codes the victim, Commendatore Anzaloni (Ildebrando Santafe), as gay, and it’s suggested that the criminal might’ve been one of his pickups. But the focus of...

Power Book IV: Force has been renewed for a third season at Starz.
Season 2 of the third spinoff in the Power franchise followed Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), who was on a mission to avenge the death of Liliana, and with the Flynn organization weakened, he’s more determined than ever to take over the Chicago drug world. But with Cbi split down the middle, Tommy and Diamond first must maintain their edge over Jenard. As their factions feud in the streets, Tommy capitalizes on another rivalry between the Serbs and Miguel Garcia, the most formidable drug lord in Chicago.
After setting off a chain reaction of violence in pursuit of his ambition, Tommy must race to stay ahead of the men who are coming for what’s theirs, a federal task force that’s closing ranks, and a sadistic supplier with a direct line to the Cartel. All the while...

When you think about the series within the Power Universe, love isn’t something that first comes to mind.
Drama? Yes. Family dynamics? Of course. Violence? Definitely. But love wouldn’t be near the top, yet it’s an integral part of all these worlds.
Love came back to haunt Tommy in the closing moments of Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 6, and now it feels almost inevitable he's setting himself up for another round of heartbreak.
Tommy’s failures in love have been well-documented over the years, and while he took a lengthy break from love after Lakeisha, he’s been all-in on Mireya since the minute they met.
And Power Force, in particular, speed runs through their relationships because they aren’t the main course when it comes to the stories they’re looking to tell.
We’ve seen Tommy and Mireya interact a handful of times, and...

Tommy Egan is back, and it's like he never left.
It's been far too long since we've seen Chicago and been absorbed in the drug dealing, violent underworld we came to know so well many months ago. And this was a hiatus you could feel, as it felt like the first season ended so long ago.
But Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 1 has finally arrived and set us up for another intoxicating season, with Tommy on a mission, lines drawn in the sand, and various titillating storylines to start the season the right way. You can tell this one is about to be special.
Jumping right into the action, the series decided against a meaningful time jump here, which was for the best, with so many storylines to branch off from after the events of Power Book IV: Force Season 1 Episode 10.
Emotions were still high, and they tapped directly...

“Women writers and directors are working as hard as men. It’s not right if we don’t give them chance to be seen.”
Legendary Italian filmmaker Liliana Cavani called for greater recognition of female filmmakers at the opening ceremony for the 80th Venice Film Festival this evening (August 30).
Ninety-year-old Cavani received the honorary Golden Lion award recognising her career, which spans seven decades.
“I’m the first female person to receive this award,” said Cavani. “There are women writers and directors who are working as well as men. It’s not quite right if we don’t give them a chance to be seen.

"You ever get tired of being at the bottom of the top?"
Truer words have never been spoken by Mr. Tommy Egan, who heads into Power Book IV: Force Season 2 ready to take over Chicago by any means necessary. And we do mean any means necessary.
With the premiere less than a month away, we've got the full trailer here and some new photos, and let's just say this is going to be one can't-miss season.
Tommy has never been one to fall in line. No, he wants to be the leader of that line, and he'll do whatever it takes to make that a reality.
To know Tommy is to know that he is always looking for the next come-up, and as you'll see in the trailer, he's got big plans for his future.
When Power Book IV: Force Season 1 ended, Tommy was down his number one ally when Claudia killed Liliana.

Netflix’s 2018 release, Bird Box, featuring Sandra Bullock as the lead actor, intrigued us with its thrilling portrayal of an apocalyptic world haunted by an unseen monster. This survival thriller revolves around Malorie Hayes (Sandra Bullock), navigating through a treacherous landscape where keeping her eyes closed meant avoiding certain death. With a decent execution, Bird Box blended fear, adrenaline, and the exploration of grief and trauma. However, the subsequent spinoff film, Bird Box: Barcelona, seemed a bit unnecessary to me. Although the film did bring innovation to certain aspects, it failed to provide a satisfying amount of explanation or thrill to the plot. Bird Box: Barcelona did not live up to expectations, and it failed to surpass the average quality of a typical survival film.

Exclusive: The colorful life of Ecuador’s former President León Febres-Cordero is being adapted for a feature biopic by his grandson, producer James Leon of 8th Gear Entertainment.
Ted Field will produce the film alongside Leon, with writer-director Fernando Guzzoni (Blanquita) signed on to pen the screenplay. President Febres-Cordero’s daughter, Maria Liliana Febres – Cordero, will serve as Executive Producer.
The Spanish-language movie will be shot entirely in Ecuador, with principal photography slated to begin in spring 2024. We understand the film will follow a similar narrative to historical biopics like Joe Wright’s Darkest Hour and Tom Hooper’s The King’s Speech by telling the story of a political figure through the effect their decisions have on themselves and their family. Liliana, one of Febres-Cordero’s daughters, will feature at the center of the story and voice the contents of her father’s diaries in the movie.

After much anticipation, "Power Book IV: Force" is finally returning for season two this fall, and according to series star Joseph Sikora, it'll be a real treat for "Power" fans who've been following the franchise since the very beginning. "We're going back to the roots of 'Power,'" he reveals to Popsugar. "We're hitting the streets hard, we're figuring out where things exist in Chicago in real time. I think that the audience is going to have a fun time discovering places."
In addition to more explosive action, Sikora teases that season two "feels very organic," crediting showrunner Gary Lennon (who served as an executive producer on "Power") for a "tremendous job of expanding our world and relating how real Chicago, specifically how Latino culture here in Chicago, would be; how it presents it very truthfully and expands our South Side and North Side gangs."

It might take me all summer to come to terms with this one.
Will Halstead has always been the heart of Chicago Med. Other characters have come and gone, but he was the one constant we could count on.
This isn't the end of the series, but Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 22 certainly felt like the end of an era when Will walked out those doors for the final time -- and ended up in Seattle with Natalie.
Will's last act was to work with Grace to screw up Or 2.0 completely. I'm unhappy about that, though I'm even less pleased to lose Will.
Marcel was right that the tech had been helpful in many ways and that eradicating its credibility wasn't the way to go. Marcel was the one person Jack trusted -- he could have gotten Jack to sideline the project after the IPO and put Grace to work on fixing the glitches.

It's been a rough year for the Gaffney Medical Center, and it will worsen.
After Dayton solved the supply chain issues by pouring more money into the hospital, things returned to normal. The worst problem has been balancing his desire to integrate new technology into the hospital with maintaining high standards of patient care.
But Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 15 spoilers point to a new problem: a custodial strike that could cripple the hospital.
I knew Charles' optimism about the potential labor dispute was unrealistic! Custodians and other low-paid employees need to put food on the table and support their families; they aren't going to accept low wages that no longer cover basic needs.
Sharon's decision not to offer a raise because other unions might demand one too could only blow up in her face. Now, the custodians are striking, and it doesn't appear that her plan to fly in strikebreakers will work.

Archer took her side when she fought the AI program automatically flagging patients as potential drug users.
But on Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 14, she may be on her own after Archer learns that a new mother is using heroin.
The issue involves whether to let the mother go home with her newborn. According to a clip in the spoiler video, Archer doesn't think it's appropriate, but Asher disagrees.
Asher doesn't want to give up on this woman after going through her own battle with heroin addiction. But is she making the right call by fighting to keep this mother and child together?

Many of our favorite TV characters died in 2022, which made us grieve.
That's an emotional storyline when a character dies, and there isn't a dry eye while watching.
Some of these characters were beloved, while others finally had a chance to be a hero in death.
The TV Fanatic staff compiled a list of the saddest character deaths of 2022.
Check out the list below:
Clay on Seal Team (Paramount+)
Clay's fate was in the air ahead of Season 6 of the beloved military drama.
However, he beat the odds and survived the injury at the end of the previous season, sending his arc in a very different direction.
Unfortunately, his kind heart got him killed as he was shot by a security guard while trying to help a troubled veteran.
We should have known it was coming, especially after Max Thieriot launched Fire Country, one of the year's most successful new shows.

Bomba Estéreo has made an impact since catapulting onto the global music scene in 2015 with their album "Amanecer" and the hit single "Fiesta," featuring Will Smith. While they've been nominated several times over the years for Grammys, Latin Grammys, and Billboard Music Awards, they have yet to take home a trophy. This year could be their year: Bomba Estéreo is up for four Latin Grammy nominations, including album of the year for "Deja" and record of the year for "Ojitos Lindos," a collaboration with the biggest Latinx star today, Bad Bunny. They're also nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category of best Latin rock, urban, or alternative album for "Deja." Even more, they've solidified themselves as a force behind the scenes, garnering lead singer Liliana Saumet and multi-instrumentalist Simón Mejía with album of the year nominations for a second time: Saumet as a songwriter on Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti,...

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, written and directed by Aitch Alberto, is a film about two queer Mexican boys who discover deep secrets within themselves over the course of a school year. The movie is an adaptation of Benjamin Alire Sáenz’s YA novel of the same name.
Aristotle “Ari” Mendoza (Max Pelayo) opens the film by introducing the audience to his family and life as a high school student. He’s not interested in being one of the cool kids and wants something more than a provincial life in 1985 New Mexico. A chance encounter with Dante (Reese Gonzales), a young man Ari meets at the local pool, leads to an intense connection between the two of them. Aristotle’s father, Jamie (Eugenio Derbez), mopes about the house in a melancholic mood, which is why he’s closer to his mother, Liliana (Veronica Falcon). She takes...

Just in time for the big labor day holiday weekend comes a highly praised film set in the world of…, well, work. A big hustling factory to be precise. Now, while other films have focused on the folks on the “line”, the “cogs’ if you will. the working “stiff” average “Janes and Joes” punching the time clocks in dramas like Norma Rae and comedies like Office Space, well, this one’s very different as it takes a long look inside the ‘executive suite” and its occupant. This “big cheese” wears many hats, owner, manager, supervisor, but the tag he hopes that most of the workers bestow on him is “papa”. Really, he thinks of the business staff as a family with himself as the surrogate father (who gives out an allowance in the form of a paycheck). He knows that his position has gotten a “bad rap”, so he wishes...
