Dan Harmon had a productive discussion with Warner Bros. about the development of a Rick & Morty movie and thinks it's time to get the ball rolling. Harmon envisions the movie as a 90-minute super episode, allowing for fancy animation and crazy sequences. The discussions are still early, and there has yet to be any confirmation about the movie going into production.
Producer and creator Dan Harmon gives encouraging an update about the proposed Rick & Morty movie. The popular animated show follows the many dangerous multiversal and intergalactic adventures of Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty Smith. Since the show's debut in 2013, there have been speculations about a movie. Last month, Harmon hinted at the possibility of the film becoming a reality, adding that it would be like a super episode.
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Harmon reveals that he had a productive discussion with executives at Warner Bros.

Drake got very philosophical in an Instagram video posted Wednesday after being was asked what his biggest fear is.
“I’ve never really had a good answer for it, but my answer was that all this is for nothing. Kind of the idea that like, one day life ends and it just all goes black,” the rapper explained in the video. “And I guess that question like, sent me, you know, obviously deep into a spiral of thought. And it makes me think about my life and how surreal it feels at times.”
He proceeded to reflect on a life-changing audition he had for a TV show when he was “13 or 14.”

Before the girls of Euphoria broke the Internet every Sunday night, it was Degrassi legend Manny Santos who ruled the school. In an instantly-iconic scene from the cult classic's third season, Manny walked the halls of Degrassi Community School with a thong poking out from above her jeans, and impressionable eyes of the era were never the same. Now, Manny is drawing direct comparisons to Euphoria lightning rod Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie. And according to Manny Santos herself, actress Cassie Steele, who played the dynamic leading lady on Degrassi: The Next Generation for nine seasons, the comparison mostly checks out. In an interview with Nylon, Steele said she...

For Cassie Steele and Miriam McDonald, playing Degrassi's inseparable best friends Manny and Emma came with a lot more pressure than just being on camera. On June 21, the two stars reunited on Instagram Live and discussed everything from playing their legendary roles to their Irl friendship of over two decades. When asked what Cassie thought the most challenging thing was about playing her character, she revealed that fellow teenagers had difficulty separating her from her role of Manny, especially during her infamous sidekick-to-school-hottie phase. For those who don't know, this particular phase included an infamous scene of Manny making heads turn while she walked down her...

In Raya and the Last Dragon, the new film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Kelly Marie Tran voices the title character, a warrior princess who embarks on a quest to reunite her shattered land, the mythical kingdom of Kumandra, as an insidious evil from reemerges within. A formidable, fearless fighter already, Raya assembles a ragtag team as she goes, including the world’s last dragon (voiced by Awkwafina), who possibly holds the magical key that Raya needs to unite the peoples of Kumandra again.

The first official trailer for “Raya and the Last Dragon” is here, and it gives an action-packed look at Disney’s latest animated adventure.
Released on Wednesday morning, the trailer introduces Disney fans to Raya, voiced by “Star Wars” actor Kelly Marie Tran, an experienced warrior on the hunt for the last dragon in the fictional world of Kumandra. Like any Disney main character, Raya is joined on her adventure with her trusty animal sidekick — Tuk Tuk, an adorable armadillo just as skilled at navigating ancient caves.
“My whole life, I trained to become a guardian of the Dragon Gem, but this world has changed. And its people are divided. Now, to restore peace, I must find the last dragon,” Raya says in the trailer while fighting a masked assailant.
The world of Kumandra has been split into five regions with different clans of people, who once lived in harmony with dragons.

The clip features a combination of martial-arts action scenes, some “Indiana Jones”-like treasure-hunting and, of course, some adorable animal-sidekick moments courtesy of the armadillo-esque Tuk Tuk.

Kelly Marie Tran will voice the main character in Disney’s animated adventure “Raya and the Last Dragon,” replacing the voice role previously held by Cassie Steele.
“Raya and the Last Dragon,” set in a fictional fantasy land called Kumandra, follows a fearless warrior as she seeks to save the realm from evil forces. As previously announced, Awkwafina voices a character named Sisu, a rare water dragon who can transform into a human being. Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada are directing the film, which was written by Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim.
Tran shot to fame after starring in 2017’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” She reprised her role as rebel mechanic Rose Tico in 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the final chapter in the nine-part Skywalker saga. Her casting in “Raya and the Last Dragon” makes Tran the first Southeast Asian American to lead a Disney animated film.

Disney announced a brand new animated fantasy adventure film project they are developing at the D23 Expo today. It’s called Raya and The Last Dragon and it looks like it’s going to be another incredible movie from the studio.
The film will be set in southeast Asia and features themes from that part of the world. The story is set in a realm called Kumandra, which is described as “a reimagined earth inhabited by an ancient civilization that venerated the mythical dragons for their power and their wisdom.”
It’s explained that there are five distinct clans from the Land of the Dragon, but the dragons are gone and Kumandra has been invaded by a dark, sinister force. Raya is a lone warrior on a quest to save her world, determined to find the last dragon, who she believes, has the power to save Kumandra.

Awkwafina to Star in Disney’s Animated ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ From ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Co-Writer
Disney treated fans at D23 Expo Saturday to their first look at “Raya and the Last Dragon,” a new animated film starring Awkwafina and written by Adele Lim, co-writer of “Crazy Rich Asians.”
Onstage at the expo in Anaheim, California, Awkwafuna, co-star Cassie Steele (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”), producer Osnat Shurer and Lim, explained that the film is inspired by Hong Kong action films with a setting inspired by Southeast Asia.
Set in Kumandra, a fantasy world with five lands and a sea shaped like a dragon, the film follows Raya (Steele), a lone warrior on a quest to find the last dragon, whom she believes can save Kumandra from a so-far unrevealed evil force. Awkwafina, meanwhile, plays Sisu, the last dragon, who has become trapped in a human body and needs Raya’s help to find the power to return to her dragon form.

According to our sister site Deadline, series creator Martin Gero and Brendan Gall — who got his start on the show as a writer/co-executive producer — will pen the project, which follows a new group of twenty-something tenants living in Hollywood’s Luxe hotel. As the aspiring artists try to make it in the entertainment industry as actors, dancers, producers and comedians, their relationships will rise and fall, and their beliefs and values will be tested.

Degrassi was one of the most beloved teen dramas in the early 2000s, which is why fans were deep in their feelings when the cast reunited for Drake's latest music video, "I'm Upset." Not only is the high-school-reunion-themed video jam-packed with nostalgic references (including the show's iconic theme song), but it also reintroduces us to our favorite characters and the actors who played them. While Emma and Manny haven't aged a day, there was one star who made us do a double take: Connor freaking DeLaurier.
Let's just say Connor, who was played by Canadian actor A.J. Saudin, had a serious glow-up. To be honest, we didn't even realize it was him until the credits rolled and showed the side by side of him and his character. Since wrapping the series in 2015, the 26-year-old, who now goes by the professional name Saudin, has put his acting days behind him and pursued a career in music.

He released the video Wednesday night and it already has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.
From 2001 to 2009, Drake, then known by his birth name Aubrey Graham, played Jimmy Brooks in the series, a rich kid who ends up in a wheelchair after getting shot.
He appeared in over 100 episodes, and again in “Degrassi: Minis” (2005-2007). He also released his first mixtape, “Room For Improvement,” in 2007.

The kids of Degrassi had their own high school reunion last night! Before being known as Drake, Aubrey Graham made a name for himself as a Canadian actor starring on the Noggin series "Degrassi: The Next Generation." The rapper played Jimmy Brooks on the series, a basketball player who ended up in a wheelchair after a school shooting left him paralyzed. While he left the show in 2007, Drake met up with a trio of his former costars on Wednesday night at the Toronto screening of the new series "We Are Disorderly." At the event, he was seen taking photos with Daniel Clark (Sean Cameron), Adam Ruggiero (Maro Del Rossi) and Lauren Collins (Paige Michalchuk). The series they were supporting is directed by Samir Rehem, who directed a ton of "Degrassi" episodes, and written by Mazin Elsadig, who played Damian on the Noggin show. This is the second mini-"Degrassi" reunion in the past week,...

Be still our Canadian teen drama-loving hearts. Today just so happens to be the one month anniversary of that epic Degrassi reunion photo shoot that we all lost our minds over, and while that was probably one of the best things that has ever happened to us, there was something missing. Or rather, someone. A ton of original cast members all gathered for a photo shoot to promote the retrospective special airing this Friday, and unfortunately, Cassie Steele was not among them. Steele played Manny Santos, who was BFFs with Miriam McDonald's Emma Nelson, and now the BFFs have reunited! Both McDonald and Steele posted pictures of the two of them hanging out on Instagram,...

The series was sold to nearly 170 territories so the show could potentially continue without the Us and Canada outlets but that seems highly unlikely.

The ensemble cast includes Andra Fuller, Benjamin Charles Watson, Cassie Steele, Chelan Simmons, Ennis Esmer, Jewel Staite, Joe Dinicol, and Jonathan Patrick Moore.
Six episodes were ordered for the first season and then, before they had aired here in the States, Bell ordered a second season of 13 episodes. According to THR, the ratings for season two were down in Canada so the broadcaster has opted not to order any more.
