Richard "Rickey" William Jewkes is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter. He was born in Murray, Utah to Reggie Wright Jewkes, a sports broadcaster, later turned personal trainer and basketball coach, and John Jay Jewkes, an executive news producer for KSL Television in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is of English and Italian descent. He is the brother to fellow filmmaker Michael J. Jewkes, with whom he co-owns their production company Midtown Productions.
He's an international award-winning director for his work on 'Meanwhile in New York'. He's written and directed multiple projects ranging from drama, thriller, comedy, horror, musical, western, coming-of-age, and more, showing his versatility across genres.
He attended Snow College and Utah State University where he studied economics, business, and theater. His background is in both music and film, where he has received professional music training since age five and produced several home-made films in his early years that won awards in state and local talent contests.
