Good Burger 2, a sequel to the iconic ‘90s film, has been greenlit at Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios.

Kenan Thompson, who played Dexter Reed, and Kel Mitchell, who starred as the original cashier, Ed, announced the news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Friday.

“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!” Thompson said. “Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!”

Paramount+ has ordered up a sequel to the ’90s-kid classic film “Good Burger.” Both Thompson and Mitchell are coming back to reprise their respective roles as Dexter Reed and Ed, reuniting the Nickelodeon comedy duo more than 25 years after the first movie’s release.

Kevin Hart announced his latest project, Celebrity Prank Wars, on Wednesday following a viral bit joking about Nick Cannon and the various women who are mothers to his children.

The show, which premieres April 6, will see the duo take their “friendly feud” up a notch, with Hart and Cannon branching out to also include some of their famous friends.

NBC and E! announced the host and commencement of voting today. Voting is now open and fans worldwide can vote for their favorite nominee in each of the 40 categories representing movies, television, music and pop culture.

Kenan Thompson is set to host the 2022 Emmy Awards, it was announced today.

The Saturday Night Live star will emcee the ceremony airing on NBC and streaming live on Peacock on Monday, Sept. 12.

“Being a part of this incredible evening where we honor the best of the television community is ridiculously exciting, and to do it on NBC — my longtime network family — makes it even more special,” Thompson said in a statement. “Like all TV fans, I can’t wait to see the stars from my favorite shows.”

Saturday Night veteran Kenan Thompson will host the 74th Emmy Awards for NBC and the Television Academy. The three-hour, coast-to-coast live telecast from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles will air Monday, September 12 on NBC and stream live on Peacock for the first time.

Nick Cannon’s eponymous syndicated daytime talk show is coming to an end after one season. The show’s producer-distributor, Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, is expected to tell the crew that the two episodes filming today will be the talker’s last ones.

I hear the original plan had been for the show to go on a five-week hiatus while Nick Cannon is busy filming Fox’s The Masked Singer and VH1’s Wild “N Out, with the crew getting a week of pay during the break. Nick Cannon will instead permanently shut down production, with the crew getting severance.

The show won’t get off the air right away; there are enough episodes in the can to take it through the season, sources said.

VH1 announced that “Wild ‘N Out” will premiere its 300th episode on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Et. The premiere will kick off the comedy show’s next season, with new episodes airing on the following Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Hosted by Nick Cannon, this season’s guest stars and performances include Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean, Tommy Davidson, Saucy Santana, Miles Brown, G-Eazy and Kossiko, Dreamdoll, Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby, Jimmy Allen, Lisa Raye, Kid ‘N Play and Mariah the Scientist. “Wild ‘N Out” is also partnering with Super League Gaming this season to produce live streams for three weeks. Adventures in Christmasing centers around Parker Baldwin, a highly successful and meticulous talk show host who plans everything to a T, finds her Christmas plans upended when her network persuades her to spend three days in the wild with superstar adventurer & television survivalist Finn Holt for a holiday television event. The two butt heads until they find themselves stranded together in the wild with no food, unreliable shelter and no form of communication. Unexpectedly impacting each other, they come to realize life is the greatest adventure.

Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury will launch nationally syndicated daytime talk show Nick Cannon this fall, with the Fox Television Stations as the anchor group for the New York-based weekday talker, produced and distributed by the company.

The Fox stations also were the original core group for the show when it was originally slated for a fall 2020 launch. The talker was already in production, cleared in 90% in the country for an Oct. 5, 2020 rollout when it was put on hold last July in a fallout from the anti-Semitic remarks the actor-comedian had made on his podcast.

“We are standing by Nick in our hope that by fall 2021 he will be able to use his extraordinary talent and platform to entertain, enlighten & unite his audience on the Nick Cannon talk show,” Lionsgate and its division Debmar-Mercury said at the time.

MTV lost one of its most durable franchises in July when the host of “Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out” host and producer was embroiled in controversy over anti-Semitic he remarks made on an unrelated podcast.

But the show may not be down for the count too long. Chris McCarthy, president of ViacomCBS’ Entertainment and Youth Group which includes MTV, was the architect of reviving the improv comedy competition series once before on MTV2. In 2016, when he took on MTV, “Wild ‘N Out” moved back on to MTV where it had blossomed as a digital hit and a live event franchise — until Cannon’s comments torpedoed that momentum.

ViacomCBS was quick to sever ties with Cannon after he asserted on his “Cannon’s Class” podcast that Black people are “the true Hebrews” and made other offensive comments. Cannon, the host of Fox’s “The Masked Singer,” has apologized and acknowledged the significance of his mistake.

Freeform has announced Leslie Odom Jr, Nicolette Robinson, Tommy Dorfman, Rainey Qualley, Gil Bellows, Rya Kihlstedt, Ava Bellows and L. Scott Caldwell will be joining the cast of “Love in the Time of Corona.” The four-part limited series follows four interwoven stories about the hopeful search for love and connection during this time of quarantine. The series, from executive producers Joanna Johnson, Christine Sacani and Robyn Meisinger of Anonymous Content, began production this month in Los Angeles. “Love in the Time of Corona” is set to premiere in August.

Fox News Channel (Fnc) has announced Will Cain as co-host of “Fox and Friends Weekend.” Cain is set to make his official debut on Aug. 15 alongside co-hosts Jedediah Bila and Pete Hegseth.

E! has ordered three new series and placed two others into development. The new shows are Nick Cannon’s “Celebrity Call Center,” which is a UK import, as well as “Dr. 90210” and “10 Things You Don’t Know.”

The cable channel shared teasers for those first two, and premiere dates for “Call Center” and “10 Things.”

Entering development are “Glamsquad Showdown” featuring NeNe Leakes and Brad Goreski, and “The Seven Year Stitch” hosted by Terry and Heather Dubrow.

Daytime Emmy-winning producers Katy Murphy Davis and Matt Strauss have been named executive producers and showrunners of Nick Cannon, the new nationally syndicated daytime talker, hosted by Cannon, set for launch this fall. Additionally, the premiere date has moved to October 5, from September 21, to accommodate Cannon’s bi-coastal production commitments, Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury said Thursday.

Film sales veteran Michael F. Goldman, who helped launch the American Film Market, died of complications from Parkinson’s Disease on June 9 in Los Angeles. He was 80.

Goldman built and owned the international film sales company Manson International, a business that had been started in 1953 by his father Edmund, after leaving Columbia Pictures in 1953. Goldman joined Manson in 1962 upon graduating from UCLA and took over its operations in 1975.

Goldman was a founding member of the the American Film Marketing Association (which became the Independent Film & Television Alliance), representing independent producers and distributors worldwide. He helped launch the American Film Market in 1981. He served as Afma’s first CFO at inception and was elected Chairman of the board in 1984-85 and 1991-93. He remained active in the organization throughout its first 25 years, serving on the board and elected to its executive committee as vice chairman-secretary in 1999-2001.

Born in Manila, Philippines, Goldman later moved with his family to Los Angeles, graduating from Beverly Hills High School in 1957, and after a brief stint in the Us Army, attended UCLA where he graduated in 1962. He then joined Manson Distributing, founded in 1953 by his father Edmund. He took over operations in 1975, selling rights to new projects and movies to overseas distributors on a territory by territory basis.

Goldman was a founding member of the trade organization the American Film Marketing Association, representing independent producers and distributors worldwide, and he helped launch the American Film Market in 1981. He served as Afma’s first CFO at inception and was elected Chairman of the Board twice in later years.

Rise Media Group has closed its literary/production division after an internal review found its performance was not up to scratch.

The company, which originally launched as Woodburn Sweitzer Management (Wsm) in late-2009, will now focus on growing its talent, packaging (film and TV) and brand building divisions.

Rise managing director and founder Rob Woodburn said: "We have given the literary/production department ample time to show positive results but it unfortunately has not met our expectations. We will be focusing our energies on our core strengths [Talent, Packaging and Brand Building] moving forward."

Literary manager and producer Keith Sweitzer has now left the company and is set to return to the United States.
