The Pogues will be back in action Thursday afternoon as Part 2 of “Outer Banks” Season 4 premieres on Netflix, but almost a month after the first five episodes were released, you may need a refresher on what they have been up to.
The treasure-hunting crew of misfits are all scattered at the end of Part 1, with several storylines to keep track of as you return for the second batch of episodes. JJ just found out his dad may not be who he thought he was. Sarah and Pope are stuck in a crypt with rats and rising water levels. And the Pogues still haven’t solved the mystery of Blackbeard’s Blue Crown.
While there were several action-packed scenes in Part 1, the cast and crew have teased that the Season 4 finale sequence is the greatest in the series’ history. The Pogues are still set on their initial mission from Wes Genrette,...

Outer Banks season 4 episode 7 begins right when episode 6 ended. JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) returned to Goat Island to confront Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) about the fact that he is JJ’s father. He looks at the portrait of Larissa Genrette on the wall, and it’s clear that he recognizes the resemblance between Larissa and him.
He asks Groff if he is his father, but Groff denies it. JJ reveals that Luke Maybank (Gary Weeks) was the one who told him that Groff was his father. Groff tries to lie again. JJ asks what really happened to his baby. Groff says that the baby drowned, but they never found the body.
It’s a very weird exchange, but they don’t have long before things hit the fan.
Captain Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh) and Lightner return to Goat Island to revenge on Chandler for killing Omar, the person who was in their crew.

Outer Banks season 4 part 2 picks up immediately after episode 5, “Albatross,” when Luke Maybank (Gary Weeks) reveals to JJ that he’s the son of Larissa Genrette (Tommi Rose) and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane).
JJ still doesn't believe that he's the son of Larissa and Groff.
In the first scene of Outer Banks season 4 episode 6, “The Town Council,” we get a flashback to baby JJ. Luke helps soothe JJ while Larissa struggles with her relationship with her husband. Luke grows close with Larissa before Groff reveals she’s not doing well. Groff brings JJ to Luke’s house to give his parents a break.
Groff pays Luke to take JJ behind Larissa’s back, which is a bit strange, right? Like, it’s straight kidnapping. Larissa reportedly drowns with her son, which is not true because obviously Luke has JJ. Groff convinces Luke to keep JJ without telling the Genrettes that he’s alive.

Is your jaw still on the floor after the end of Outer BanksSeason 4, Part 1, when Luke Maybank (Gary Weeks) dropped the bombshell that JJ (Rudy Pankow) was actually born a Kook?!
Well, at this rate, just leave your jaw where it is. Because we’ve got the first eight minutes of Part 2 queued up above so you Pogues can learn Luke and JJ’s backstory — the real one — before the rest of the season drops on Nov. 7.
Season 4, Part 1 ends on a cliff-hanger, and Part 2 helps you climb right back over the edge to get the answers you (and JJ) need to know. The beginning of Part 2 is narrated by Luke explaining how he came to adopt JJ after working on the grounds of the Genrettes’ home. He was employed by JJ’s mother, Larissa Genrette (Tommi Rose), and his father, Chandler Groff...

[This story includes major spoilers from Outer Banks season four, part one.]
The first half of Outer Banks season four ended with several cliffhangers for the Pogues, many of which should be resolved, to some degree, in the second half of the season.
Over on Kildare Island, Rudy Pankow’s JJ probably gets the biggest bomb dropped on him when he learns that he’s not the son of his alcoholic and abusive father, Luke (Gary Weeks). His birth parents are actually the late Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) — making him the kind of person he hates, a Kook, and the grandson of Wes Genrette (David Jansen).
“It plays out in a series of outbursts,” Pankow tells The Hollywood Reporter of how this news will land with perhaps the Pogue-iest of the Pogues when the show returns Nov. 7 with the final episodes. “I think it’s an identity crisis in Part Two.”

Between shipwreck treasure-dives, murder cover-ups, and love triangles, still moments on Outer Banks, the Netflix series about teenage treasure hunters operating off the shores of North Carolina, are hard to come by. So when filming for the second half of Season Four moved to the western coast of Morocco, Rudy Pankow, who plays the daredevil JJ, seized the opportunity for a quick jaunt to the Sahara desert. Awed by the sand dunes that resembled snowy hilltops and the sun setting behind undulating mounds that stretched for miles, he calls the...

The Pogues have returned to the “Outer Banks” for Season 4, and some of the stars were shocked at just how quickly they slipped back into trouble.
“I was mad,” Madelyn Cline told TheWrap. “I thought we matured a little bit. There was that 18-month time jump, and I was kind of hoping that our frontal lobes developed just a little bit in that time period, but no.”
“There’s a major action set piece every two episodes. It’s crazy how big they’re going in the middle of the season,” Jonathan Daviss added. “We have a huge finale this year, but I think they did a pretty good job of spacing out these big moments this year, too.”
At the beginning of the season, the Pogues use their gold to build a world of their own, Poguelandia. But the bliss of the simple life only lasts so long, as their next treasure hunt awaits.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1.] JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) got the shock of his life when he found out his true parentage in Part 1 of Outer Banks Season 4. After JJ and the Pogues got caught up in a mission for the very wealthy and mysterious Genrette family, JJ learned from his father Luke (Gary Weeks) that his real parents are the late Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff. JJ’s entire life has been built on a life, and Pankow told TV Insider that this revelation will shake JJ to his core moving forward. Pankow acknowledged that JJ’s slate has been wiped clean, and he’s going to be dealing with an identity crisis in Part 2, which drops on November 7. “In a weird sense, that could give hope, and it could also be very daunting and be like, ‘Am I gonna find myself again?’ I think that’s kind of what...

It all comes down to this! Only one episode of Outer Banks season 4 part 1 left, and it’s a good one.
In the last few minutes of season 4 episode 4, Sheriff Shoupe (Callum Moss) shows up at the house to talk to JJ (Rudy Pankow). John B (Chase Stokes) was trying to decide what to do. Luckily, he makes a good decision!
Shoupe doesn’t find Terrance’s body, but he knows JJ is lying about Wes
In Outer Banks season 4 episode 5, “Albatross,” Shoupe questions JJ about the situation at the Break when JJ threatened the Kooks after Ruthie tried to run them over. Then, Shoupe asks JJ about what happened at the hyperbaric chamber.
Shoupe shows JJ some photos of the dead guy that turned up on the beach. JJ denies knowing the dead guy, which is true. Then, Shoupe asks JJ where they were on Saturday night, the night Wes Genrette (David Jensen) died.

The Outer Banks season 4 part 1 ending is definitely a big cliffhanger! Well, there are a few big cliffhangers actually in Outer Banks season 4 episode 5, "Albatross."
For most of the season, the Pogues were just interested in paying off their property taxes. After JJ gambled away the last of the money from the El Dorado gold, the Pogues were in a rough spot, and Wes Genrette (David Jensen), who we met at the end of Outer Banks season 3, threw the Pogues a lifeline.
In exchange for finding the amulet that belonged to Elizabeth Teach, the wife of Blackbeard, in Blackbeard's wrecked ship, Wes would give the Pogues $50K, more than enough to cover the cost of the taxes and get the business back up and running.
The plan was going so well until it hit a snag! Another group, a violent one, was also looking for the amulet, which holds clues...

From absurd dashcam footage to amusing cat videos, it’s pretty safe to assume that the vast majority of real-world recordings are completely banal in nature – so why is it that Found Footage movies are almost exclusively associated with the horror genre? If you really think about it, we should have seen major Found Footage entries in pretty much every single genre by now, and yet filmmakers still insist on trying to make the next Blair Witch Project year after year.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for Pov horror flicks, but I also enjoy a nice little palate cleanser every now and then. That’s why I appreciate rare exceptions like Dean Israelite’s Project Almanac, a sci-fi Found Footage romp that takes advantage of subjective filmmaking in an admirable attempt at updating age-old time travel tropes for a new generation.

The cast of Outer Banks have heard all of the bizarre, creative, and somewhat genius theories that fans have brainstormed throughout the Netflix show’s three seasons. Some theories are a bit too unbelievable to ever come true. However, others are so twisted they just might work. Here’s a closer look at the sibling theory and what Cline had to say about it.

We pledge allegiance to Poguelandia.
John B (Chase Stokes) and the “Outer Banks” crew are back in Netflix’s first teaser for the series’ third season, and it seems they’ve finally found some peace on an island they call Poguelandia. The sky is so blue that it’s almost turquoise, the sand is soft and it looks like the gang has set up their own little sun-soaked world far away from Ward (Charles Esten), Rafe (Drew Starkey) and the Sheriff’s Department.
But, of course, nothing is as it seems. Soon, the trailer heats up, showing Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kie (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) running away from wild dogs and participating in car chases as they continue to search for treasure. There’s also lots of fighting, including with Ward and Rafe, and the return of Cleo (Carlacia Grant) and John B’s resurrected-from-the-dead father,...

Greenland, a cinematic disaster epic scheduled for August, has released a trailer showcasing extinction-level devastation for humanity, whose survival—in a manner akin to many recent disaster epics—rests on the shoulders of Gerard Butler.
In the case of Greenland, Butler headlines as a man who, joined by his estranged wife (Morena Baccarin) and young son (Roger Dale Floyd), embarks on a dangerous journey to prospective safety after the planet becomes bombarded by a planet-killing comet and its scattered fragments. However, expect the apocalyptic backdrop of the film to simultaneously highlight the bravery of humanity while indicting its more unstable elements. The film’s cast also consists of Scott Glenn, David Denman, Claire Bronson, Gary Weeks and Andrew Bachelor.
With that set, check out the Greenland trailer just below.
As the official logline for Greenland fully explains of the film’s plot:
A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet races to Earth.

Justin Baldoni’s Five Feet Apart, on the surface, is your casual generic and conventional teen drama that evokes a similar sense of “impending doomed romance” that plays with every cliché it can. Sprouse, in particular, impresses dearly. His first feature starring role in eight years, with his last appearance with his twin sibling Dylan Sprouse in the famed Disney Channel sequel show The Suite Life on Deck in 2011. However, Sprouse has been heavily active in...

"God you're beautiful, and brave. Wish I could touch you..." CBS Films has debuted a third charming trailer for romantic drama Five Feet Apart, opening in theaters everywhere next month. We've already featured a few trailers for this before, but this trailer is capitalizing on the Valentine's Day holiday since it's a sappy romance. They're supposed to always stay five feet away from other Cf patients so they don't get sick. Everything changes when she meets another guy who also has Cf, and falls totally in love with him. Haley Lu Richardson stars, with Cole Sprouse as her beau, plus Claire Forlani, Parminder Nagra, Moises Arias, Gary Weeks, and Kimberly Hebert Gregory. "Catch his infection and you can kiss new lungs goodbye." CBS Films has released the full-length trailer for a charming romantic drama titled Five Feet Apart, from filmmaker Justin Baldoni. This story is about a young woman with cystic fibrosis, referred to as Cf, which is a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and a limited ability to breathe. They're supposed to stay five feet away from other Cf patients so they don't get sick. Everything changes when she meets another guy who also has Cf, and falls totally in love with him. The very talented Haley Lu Richardson stars, with Cole Sprouse as her beau, plus Claire Forlani, Parminder Nagra, Moises Arias, Gary Weeks, and Kimberly Hebert Gregory. The superhero clean-up operation Damage Control finally made the jump from the comics into the McU in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The governmental department set up by Tony Stark didn’t make too much of an impact, though, as they only appeared in the pre-credits scene of the movie, which was set directly after the events of 2012’s The Avengers.
One fan has spotted another occasion in Homecoming, however, when the department shows up again. The morning after Spidey faced some crooks in Avengers masks armed with Chitauri weaponry, Damage Control director Anne Marie Hoag (Tyne Daly) and Agent Foster (Gary Weeks) can be briefly spotted at the scene of the crime. They both also featured in the film’s opening scene, too, and here’s how Reddit user MaximumVibe put it:

"Last time I checked, I am in control here." We don't usually cover TV trailers, but this one seems like it's worth making an exception for. Killing Reagan is a feature film for the National Geographic Channel made by filmmaker Rod Lurie. It's an adaptation of the book of the same name retelling the events of the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan in March of 1981. Actor Tim Matheson plays Reagan, Cynthia Nixon plays his wife Nancy, and the cast includes Joe Chrest, Joel Murray, Gary Weeks, and Kyle S. More as John Hinckley Jr, who tried to shoot Reagan while at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. in an attempt to impress actress Jodie Foster. Even though this is technically a TV movie, it looks like it has some strong performances in it, and it might be worth catching when it airs. Take a look. Here's the...

Despite all the praise heaped on it on release, I was never really a fan of Josh Tranks found-footage superhero movie Chronicle. So when Project Almanac was initially announced as a “found-footage time travel movie” I was less than enthusiastic. Imagine my surprise then when the film turned out to not only be a fantastic time travel movie but also one of the best found-footage films Ever made. For me it’s even better than the grand-daddy of them all, The Blair Witch Project.
Project Almanac tells the story of David (Johnny Weston), a brilliant high school student whose skills get him a place at MIT; however a lack of funds means that he can’t attend the only school that will push him academically.

It’s a little sad, I’ll admit, that not only was this the first film that I watched in 2012, but it’s how I spent my New Years Eve. Despite being invited to a huge gathering, I have a toddler, and a wife that had to be up at 5 Am on January 1st. This means going out was not optional. So, once I got the wife and kid to bed, I decided it was time to do a little partying of my own kind. After I got into the right “mindset”, I popped a newly received Blu Ray into the player. It just so happened that The Asylum’s “Zombie Apocalypse” was sitting on top of my backlog pile. I figured, what the hell. I enjoy zombies. Blood and gore in HD is a plus, and it features recognizable faces. What else am I going to do tonight, right?...

Director: Nick Lyon.
Writers: Brooks Peck and Craig Engler.
2012: Zombie Apocalypse or the simpler Zombie Apocalypse is a The Asylum production. The Asylum generally knocks off bigger productions e.g. Battle Los Angeles. Occasionally, they will come up with something original and this is great for the SyFy Network and their "SyFy Original Movie" premieres. Zombie Apocalypse aired on television Saturday, October 30th and this is a tale of survivors trying to get to Catalina. Unfortunately, there are a million zombies in their way and strangely, it looks like the same zombies are being killed over and over again.
Julian (Johnny Pacar), Ramona (Taryn Manning), Henry (Ving Rhames), Cassie (Lesley Ann-Brandt), Billy (Eddie Steeples), Mack (Gary Weeks) Kevin (Gerald Webb) and a few others team up to battle the undead after the "VM2" is released across the globe. The VM2 is a virus that infects the host and makes them uber violent.

Zombie movies are my favorite genre of horror films. George Romero's zombie films are great, and if you read the site you know I love The Walking Dead. SyFy aired Zombie Apocalypse last night, just in time for Halloween. Despite the simple story/script and lackluster visual effects, this made-for-tv-movie is better than most. It is a great example of a midnight movie and will meet the needs of any zombie fan looking to get into the Halloween spirit.
The film stars Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible, Piranha 3D), Taryn Manning (8 Mile, Hustle & Flow), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Spartacus), Gary Weeks, Eric Steeples, Johnny Pacar and Geral Webb. The story takes place moths after a zombie apocalypse and follows a small group of survivors as they try to fight the zombie hordes to make it to a rumored safe haven on the island of Catalina.

Today is a good day to be a zombie fan folks, as The Asylum and director Nick Lyon (Species: The Awakening) have debuted the first teaser trailer for Zombie Apocalypse. There are make-up effects, pitched battles and actress Taryn Manning in a shower scene, all in under two minutes. The clip shows solid production values and The Asylum, from the promotional material, seems to be backing a winner here based on the story and the cast. Also starring are Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead), Gary Weeks (Deadland), Johnny Pacar (The Dead Undead) and Lesley-Ann Brandt (InSight).
This title will debut on television first through the SyFy Network. The first air date is October 29th at 9:00pm and this is just two weeks after the premiere of "The Walking Dead." Perhaps there is a competitive air afoot. Then, not much later, The Asylum will release this title on DVD December 27th.

On April 22-23, Asbury Park, NJ will once again be taken over by the most toxic film festival in the world! (That’s a good thing.) The 12th annual Tromadance is two days and nights filled with depraved cinematic abuses that will leave you a shattered, emotional wreck. (That’s a good thing, too.)
This year, the fest will screen three feature films, a buttload of shorts, plus two mini-retrospectives.
The features are: 1. Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson‘s gonzo The Taint, a social satire filled with so much gore and sexual degeneracy you might want to wear a raincoat to the screening; 2. Joshua Grannell‘s horror spoof All About Evil, starring Natasha Lyonne and Cassandra Peterson about a psychotic film auteur who kills people on camera; 3. Miguel Angel Vivas’ brutal assault film Kidnapped.

Deadland is a film being distributed by Lightning Entertainment on DVD November 23rd. The trailer for the show has already been posted (here) on 28Dla and this is an independent film that has won many awards for excellence. This recognition is deserved, as writer Gary Weeks pulls double-duty by being the central writer and main character. This post-apocalyptic, gripping story of what happens after the fallout of World War III, shows that love still matters and that following your heart, while often punishing, reaps great rewards.
The film's central story follows character Sean (Weeks) through a battered landscape and through a whole heap of trouble to find his lost wife, Jane (Emily-Grace Murray). Now, after a pre-emptive nuclear strike from North Korea, the United States is reduced to thirteen provinces. In these provinces are loosely banded military organizations, who are fighting off a lingering plague.

Elena Undone opens with a hazy, slow motion shot of two women walking towards each other. A voiceover dreamily states “In love, one and one are ... one. Seldom do we get to experience the art in love.” It goes on to reference Emily Bronte and the scene reveals that we’ve actually been listening to a church sermon (a not-so-subtle transition to a stained glass window is our first hint).
From here, we meet Elena (Necar Zadegan), a beautiful, soft-spoken woman. She’s married to the preacher (Barry, played by Gary Weeks), and they’re trying for another child, a subject that Mr. Preacher seems much more keen on than Elena. [Coverage from the Newport Beach Film Festival]
We’ve been following the progress of the post apocalyptic action movie Deadland for a while now, so I was well chuffed to meet the writer, Gary Weeks, a few minutes before the movie started. He was kind enough to spend a few minutes with me to discuss his latest flick.
Cyberhal: what was the inspiration for your movie?
Gary Weeks: I wondered what the world would be like if you took away our access to cell phones and the internet? What would happen if we left all that stuff behind, and everything else that goes with it? What would we need to survive? How would we live? What would we desire? I’m a romantic, so I think that for the main character in my story (Sean) the answer is love.
