Hansa Wadkar was born on 24 January 1924 in India. She was an actress and writer, known for Nav Jeevan (1939), Sant Sakhu (1941) and Mere Lal (1948). She died on 23 August 1971 in Bombay, India.

Started her career at the age of thirteen.

Film Bhumika (1977) was based on her life.

She herself penned her autobiography Sangte Aika along with journalist Arun Sadhu.Which was made made into a film Bhumika (1977).
