Ivan Ufimtsev is Soviet animator-director, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1991), People's Artist of Russia (2004). In 1948 he graduated from the film actor school in Sverdlovsk, in 1955 - the directing department of GITIS. Ufimtsev acted in the films Dnevnye zvyozdy (1968), Podpasok s ogurtsom (1979), Esli verit Lopotukhinu... (1983), Povest nepogashennoy luny (1990), Muzhchina dlya molodoy zhenshchiny (1996) and others. Since 1963 - director of the film studio 'Soyuzmultfilm'. Until 1970, he worked in the creative collaboration with Mikhail Kamenetskiy. Already the second film Whose Pine Cones Are in the Wood? (1965) brought success to the directors. At the I IFF in Mamaia (Romania) in 1966, the animation received the Silver Medal. In 1971 he shot the animated film Ball Horse (1971). In 1976, Ufimtsev began to work on the creation of the series 38 Parrots (1976). Over the next 15 years, intermittently, he shot 10 episodes of the animated film.
