During the horror/sci-fi boom of the 1950s, makeup man Harry Thomas was

Edward D. Wood Jr.,
Tor Johnson and
Richard E. Cunha, and contributed to
such films as
Frankenstein's Daughter (1958),

Thomas is best-known for his work on horror movies, in which he almost
invariably had to make something out of nothing.
