We recently learned that Superman & Lois will return for its fourth and final season a little sooner than expected on October 7 and The CW has just shared the official descriptions for the two-part premiere.
The first is titled "The End & The Beginning" and teases, "Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) is locked in a brutal battle with Luthor’s monster; Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and the boys race against time to save General Lane (Dylan Walsh). Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Brent Fletcher & Todd Helbing."
The second episode is going to be called "A World Without" but this synopsis understandably offers no real insights into the outcome of the Man of Steel's battle with Doomsday.
However, it sounds like Lex Luthor is still on the loose and about to enact his twisted plan for Smallville. "Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Sarah (Inde Navarrette) join the fight against Luthor (Michael Cudlitz), who starts making moves in Smallville.

We haven’t even seen the midseason premiere yet, but here’s a peek into the future at what’s to come in the episode after next over on The Flash. As that’ll be Valentine’s Day week, the Scarlet Speedster’s show will deliver a romance-themed hour revolving around Barry and Iris on Date Night. However, this being Central City, their plans will be scuppered by the arrival of not one, but two old enemies.
These two familiar foes are metahuman crime bosses Amunet Black and Goldface. This marks the first appearance of Katee Sackhoff as fan favorite Amunet since her recurring role in season 4. Meanwhile, Goldface debuted in an episode of season 5, as played by Damion Poitier – Aka Thanos in The Avengers. The pair haven’t shared the screen before, but the two characters have been established as ex-husband and wife. So, could sparks fly again in this outing?...

Home Again, the indie comedy in the works from Hallie Meyers-Shyer, has made room among its cast for Veep star Reid Scott.
Deadline has the scoop, confirming that Scott will now be joining Reese Witherspoon, Candice Bergen and Michael Sheen as Justin Miller, a “successful, fast-talking, and funny Hollywood producer who takes an interest in producing the boys’ film.” At the heart of the story, though, is Witherspoon’s single mother of two, who uproots for Los Angeles where she makes the unconventional decision to welcome three young, charismatic guys into her newfound home, laying the foundation for an atypical family dramedy.
Not to be confused with Sudz Sutherland’s drama of the same name, Home Again had been courting Neighbors star Rose Byrne for the central role before setting sights on Witherspoon, effectively bumping the film’s start date from August to October. As of the time of writing,...

Reign, Season 2: Episode 4 – “The Lamb and the Slaughter”
Written by Laurie McCarthy & Adele Lim
Directed by Sudz Sutherland
Airs Thursday nights at 9 on The CW
It was this time a couple weeks ago when it didn’t look like Reign was very interested in following through on some of the drastic effects that its plague epidemic introduced to both the castle grounds and the world. But rather than shirking the long-term trauma of it all, “The Lamb and the Slaughter” confidently shows what a thing like the plague does to the characters in this series.
For one, the promises of reckoning and lingering spirits are beginning to spill over into the action at an almost startling level. Reign hasn’t shied away from these elements before, but even former queen Catherine has a disturbing encounter with the ghosts of two little girls an episode after we see proof that...

Directed and produced by the husband-and-wife team of Sudz Sutherland and Jennifer Holness, the well-done action drama highlights the devastating outcomes of legislation in the U.S., U.K. and Canada that made it easier to deport foreign-born people for minor crimes, often separating them from the only home and family they know. Whistler, B.C. -- The Tatiana Maslany-starring coming-of-age drama Picture Day on Sunday won the Borsos Award for best Canadian feature at the Whistler Film Festival. Maslany also won the trophy for best performance in the film by first-time director Kate Melville that bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival. Picture Day follows a rebellious teenager, played by Maslany, who is caught between adolescence and adulthood as she repeats her last year of high school. Melville’s film beat out other Tiff titles for the Borsos crown, like Sudz Sutherland’s Home Again, Sean Garrity’s My Awkward Sexual Adventure

Jamaica is anything but an island paradise to the characters who’ve just been deported there in this well-intentioned but unconvincing drama by Toronto-based director Sudz Sutherland. All three have run afoul of recent legislation in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. that allows foreign-born persons who are convicted of criminal offences to be sent back to countries that many have not seen since they were children. Fresh from a stint at Rikers Island, Dunston (Lyriq Bent) soon finds himself working for a Trenchtown gangster and reluctantly sliding back into a criminal lifestyle. Meanwhile, Marva (Tatyana Ali) copes with the pain of being separated from her young children in Toronto. Yet the one who is most vulnerable to the effects of culture shock and isolation is Everton (Stephan James), a British teenager who initially acts like yet another big-spending foreigner on holiday but inevitably gets his comeuppance. Unfortunately,...

In the last major update for the Toronto International Film Festival 2012 slate, they’ve announced their Canadian features. The line-up includes Sarah Polley’s upcoming documentary Stories We Tell, coming off her Take This Waltz this summer (which also premiered at Tiff). The other major films include two we’ve seen at Cannes, one being Brandon Cronenberg‘s Antiviral, which premiered alongside his father’s Cosmopolis. We disliked it (full review), saying it came off as an “an amateurish, high-budget student film.” The other major title is Xavier Dolan‘s Laurence Anyways, which we loved (full review), calling it a major step forward for the filmmaker. Check out the rest of the titles below, which I’m sure will include many discoveries.
Antiviral Brandon Cronenberg, Canada/USA North American Premiere
Syd March is an employee at a clinic that sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans.
