But, seven years after Focus Features (a division of Universal Pictures) released the film, a sequel has still not made it into production – and during an interview with The Direct, director David Leitch revealed what the hold-up is: Atomic Blonde 2 has gotten caught up in rights issues.

Atomic Blonde was a passion project for star Charlize Theron, who produced the film through her company Denver and Delilah Productions. Denver and Delilah started developing Atomic Blonde 2 in 2018, and in 2020 Theron revealed that the sequel was set up at the Netflix streaming service. For short film assignments, I always do that either before or after, because I want to know the people who’re working on it and how the thing materialized. Anyway, the synopsis of We’re Not Done Yet said it would be about a mother and son getting into a tense situation on holiday, due to the overly controlling nature of the son. That made me assume the son is the sort of villain here. But when I finally watched We’re Not Done Yet, it didn’t quite feel like that.

Deadline reports that Apple TV+ has cancelled Constellation after one season. The sci-fi psychological thriller series starred Noomi Rapace as an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space, only to find that key pieces of her life seem to be missing.

The first season of Constellation wrapped up its eight-episode run in March, and unfortunately for fans, it sounds like there are quite a number of plot threads left hanging now that the series has been cancelled.

Along with Rapace, Constellation also stars Jonathan Banks, James D’Arcy, Julian Looman, William Catlett, Barbara Sukowa and Rosie and Davina Coleman. The show, which was created and written by Peter Harness, dealt with “one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and for her to recover all that she has lost.“

“Constellation” premiered in February and ran through March. Apple TV+ has canceled the sci-fi series Constellation after a single season.

The series from creator Peter Harness stars Noomi Rapace as an astronaut aboard the International Space Station when an object collides with it. After making repairs, she returns to Earth to find that pieces of her life are missing or not as she recalls them.

The cancellation comes just six weeks after Constellation completed its eight-episode season in late March. The series is one of a host of sci-fi titles at Apple TV+, among them For All Mankind, Severance, Foundation, Silo and Invasion.

Per usual with streaming platforms, Apple doesn’t viewing figures for Constellation; the series did not make its way into Nielsen’s streaming top 10 during its run.

Apple TV+ released the first trailer for its upcoming sci-fi series Constellation, which has some auspices that are sure to excite genre TV fans.

The project stars Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Emmy nominee Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad) and is from writer Peter Harness (War of the Worlds). Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad) directs.

Rapace stars as Jo — “an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space — only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The action-packed space adventure is an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost.”

The eight-part series also stars James D’Arcy (Oppenheimer), Julian Looman (Emily in Paris), William Catlett (A Thousand and One), Barbara Sukowa (Voyager), and introduces Rosie and Davina Coleman as Alice.

Just days after the death of legendary TV producer Norman Lear at age 101, the new entertainment special “Norman Lear: A Life on Television” will air on CBS this Friday at 8 p.m., in addition to streaming on Paramount+.
