Film and television composer Bear McCreary has unleashed “Incinerator” as the latest single from his recently announced album The Singularity, arriving May 10th. The song features Serj Tankian on vocals, and has a sonic vibe that would fit comfortably in System of a Down’s catalog.

“When I got the music, when I got this song specifically, I was blown away,” stated Tankian. “It’s explosive.”

The song is explosive, indeed, starting out with a blistering guitar riff before Tankian’s soaring trademark vocals take the spotlight. About two minutes into the track, Tankian shifts into a chaotic rapid delivery reminiscent of Soad’s “Chop Suey!”

The tune serves as the album’s leadoff track, with McCreary remarking, “Once I heard Serj’s searing vocals, I knew immediately that ‘Incinerator’ would be the first song on the album, acting like a warning that a massive, aggressive, and emotional journey lay ahead.

Acclaimed composer Bear McCreary has announced a new concept album, The Singularity, which includes contributions by Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, and more renowned artists. Ahead of its May 10th release, McCreary has released the single “Type III” featuring Rufus Wainwright.

He co-wrote The Singularity with his brother Brendan McCreary, who also lends his vocals to eight of the tracks.

Dethklok and Babymetal, who co-headlined a North American tour last year, will reunite for two special “Babyklok” shows in San Francisco this April. The concerts will take place in the midst of Dethklok’s recently announced headlining Spring 2024 US tour featuring support from DragonForce and Nekrogoblikon.

The “Babyklok” shows are set for April 24th and 25th at The Masonic in San Francisco, with DragonForce opening the first night and Nekrogoblikon supporting the second night.

Discovery Home Entertainment is bringing four animated films to the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con, with world premieres set for The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, Justice League: Warworld, and Babylon 5: The Road Home. The biggest heavy metal band in the world is back in the trailer for Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, a new film from Adult Swim that will hit video-on-demand services and Blu-ray/DVD on August 22nd. In addition, Metalocalypse band Dethklok have unleashed their first new song in 10 years.

It’s a good day for Dethklok fans, as an expanded edition of their 2007 debut LP, The Dethalbum, has just been released digitally. The 24-song collection is available to stream below.

Dethklok are the animated band depicted in the Adult Swim series Metalocalypse. In real life, the music features Metalocalypse co-creator Brendon Small and legendary metal drummer Gene Hoglan, among others.

The Dethalbum (Expanded Edition) offers the chance for fans to stream the original 15-song LP, as well as nine rare tracks previously unavailable on digital platforms.

It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Dethklok, as the band has a co-headlining North American tour with Japanese pop-metal act Babymetal set for late summer and early fall, with tickets available here.

Dethklok of Metalocalypse fame and Babymetal have announced a co-headlining 2023 North American tour with support from guitar virtuoso Jason Richardson.

Affectionately dubbed the “Babyklok tour,” trek kicks off August 30th in Houston and runs through October 11th in Los Angeles. Along the way, the bands will also make stops at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival on September 10th in Alton, Virginia; the Louder Than Life festival on September 23rd in Louisville, Kentucky; and the Aftershock festival on October 7th in Sacramento, California.

A Babymetal artist pre-sale begins today (April 11th) at 1 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code Theotherone. A Live Nation pre-sale starts Wednesday (April 12th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code Vinyl., while general ticket sales begin Friday (April 14th). Dethklok will kick off their twenty-nine-date national tour on August 30 with Japanese kawaii metal pioneers Babymetal as co-headliners and virtuoso guitarist Jason Richardson as support.

Of all the misfits in James Gunn's "Peacemaker" series, Steve Agee's John Economos, aka Dye Beard, is the most relatable. The role of the tired, sad, unappreciated It professional speaks to the universal feelings of loneliness, insecurity, and general disdain. John got one of the best lines from "The Suicide Squad" trailer ("We've got a freakin' kaiju!") and my personal favorite monologue in Gunn's follow-up spin-off show, "Peacemaker." Beck, a legendary rock guitar figure known for his innovative style and virtuosic talent, died Tuesday at a hospital near his home in Surrey, England, after contracting bacterial meningitis, his family announced. Rather than send the movies straight to Adult Swim’s sister HBO Max immediately, the pics will get a release worldwide on Blu-ray/DVD and PVOD and electronic-sell-through (Est) with a 90-day exclusive window before hitting the streaming service and Adult Swim.

Exclusive: Film and TV exec and producer Mark Bauch has been named SVP of Imagine Entertainment’s Feature Film Group. Bauch will be responsible for bringing in new projects, helping to oversee the development and packaging of Imagine’s current feature slate, as well as targeting IP and books.

Central Park, an animated musical comedy from Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers) will premiere at Apple TV+ this summer, the streaming service announced Sunday.

Jon Schnepp, who wrote for and directed the 2000s animated television series “Metalocalypse” died Thursday after suffering a stroke last week. He was 51.

Schnepp’s wife, Holly Payne, confirmed her husband’s death Friday on Twitter with a statement and a screenshot of a fundraiser page that had been collecting donations for Schnepp’s recovery and medical expenses.

“It is with a broken heart that the Schnepp family and I must announce the passing of our beloved Jon Schnepp, who died peacefully on July 19, 2018,” the statement reads. “Jon ultimately succumbed to the effects of a massive stroke.”

This is cool. Musician/filmmaker Brendon Small created this rad short film music video Galaktikon: Nightmare and it's a throwback to 80's sci-fi and horror. Technically it's only a music video for the song "Nightmare" from the album Galaktikon II: Become the Storm, but it's also a "live-action intergalactic metal short film" about a space pilot who gets captured and must escape. There's some crazy cool, very impressive sci-fi visuals in this, worth watching for them alone. "Practical effects may look fake, but they feel very real. That’s been something that drove us."
