(January 2003) Directed "The Children of Herakles" play by Euripides in an English translation by Ralph Gladstone (Loeb Drama Center, Cambridge, Massachussets, USA).

(1994) He directed the American Goodman Theatre Company of Chicago, Illinois theatre production of William Shakespeare's play, "The Merchant of Venice," at the "Everybody's Shakespeare International Festival" at the Barbican and Pit Theatres in London, England with Paul Butler, Elaine Tse, and Geno Silva in the cast.

(September 26 to October 24, 1993) He directed Robert Auletta's stage adaptation of Aeschylus' play, "The Persians," in an American premiere at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California for the Fall Festival. Hamza El Din was composer and performer.

(1984 to 1985 season) He directed the musical, "Hang On To Me," at the Tyrone Guthrie Theater, 725 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, Minnesota with Werner Klemperer and Marianne Tatum in the cast. Maxim Gorky wrote the book, "Summerfolk." George and Ira Gershwin were composers. Maria M. Markof-Belaeff and he were also translators. Adrienne Lobel was set designer. Dunya Ramicova was costume designer. Craig Smith was music director.

(May 22, 1980) He directed Nikolai Gogol's play, "The Inspector General," in an American Repertory Theatre production at the Loeb Stage in Cambridge, Massachusetts with Jeremy Geidt (Osip) and Mark Linn-Baker (Khlestakov) in the cast. Sam Guckenheimer and he also wrote the new translation. Adrianne Lobel was set designer. Dunya Ramicons was costume designer. Paul Gallo was lighting designer. Robert Brustein was artistic director.
