Dominique Rolin(1913-2012)

Daughter of a Belgian father and a French mother. Left Brussels and her
family in 1946 and moved to Paris to pursue a career as a writer. In
Paris she married illustrator Bernard Milleret. Made a definite
breakthrough with Le Souffle, which earned her the Prix Femina in 1952.
Predominant themes in her - often autobiographical - work: passing of
time, love, growing old, physical decay, death. Titles include: Les
Marais (1942), Les Quatre Coins (1954), Le Lit (1960), Le Corps (1969),
L'Enrage (1978) and Le Futur Immediat (2001).
