Amit Poznansky is an award winning composer whose varied work encompasses film and television scores, music for the theater, poet-songs, concert, choral and Jazz music. He is also a versatile and experienced arranger/orchestrator in a variety of music genres, and has been working in both live and digital settings.
Best known for the score he composed for Joseph Cedar's academy award nominee for best foreign film "Footnote" (also winner of the Best Screenplay Award at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival). The music was performed by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Doron Salomon. In 2013 Poznansky was honored as the winner for Best Original Score for the film, at the International Samobor Film Music Festival. Among the jury were: John P. Corigliano, Richard King, Randy Thom, Mark Dornford-May. In 2017, at the opening of its 82nd season, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta played an orchestral suite adapted from the music of "Footnote". In addition, the work was performed on IPO's US and Canada tour, including at Carnegie Hall (New York) and Disney Hall (Los Angeles). The suite was performed once again in 2022 by the Redwood Symphony Orchestra, (California, USA), conducted by Maestro Eric K Kujawsky.
Since 2010 Poznansky composed the music scores for more than 25 films, which included full length features, shorts, two TV series, documentaries, and animated films.
