Italian actress of the 50s and 60s, a former piano student. Discovered by Vittorio de Sica, who cast her in his film Il tetto (1956). Though winning an award as most promising actress in Italy, she was, thereafter, mainly relegated to support and second leads in comedies and period dramas. Internationally, she is perhaps best known for her role in the Charlton Heston film The Pigeon that Took Rome.
