Just two shows into NCIS’ new season and storylines are heating up! During the series’ premiere, fans saw Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) interested in the Deputy Direction role. Even though he had worked as an interim director and experience as an NCIS agent, the role was given to someone else: Gabriel Laroche (Seamus Dever), Department of Justice Inspector General.
Meanwhile, fans saw Lena Paulson (Marem Hassler) return in Episode 2, an agent for Germany’s federal intelligence service, Bundesnachrichtendienst (Bnd).
Lena debuted in Season 20 when fans discovered that she and Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) were hooking up at international out-of-town conferences. At the end of Episode 2, their romance is made official when Lena gives Leon the key to her apartment.
Could the show be teasing an exit for him?

It's been over a year since two of the best shows in HBO history signed off on the same night, yet we're still thinking about "Barry." The series started with a bang in 2018, delivering a cool premise –- What if a hit man wanted to give it all up and become an actor? –- that soon gave way to four seasons of dark humor, brutal violence, shocking tragedy, whip-smart satire, and some of the most incredible filmmaking of the 21st century. Co-creators Alec Berg and Bill Hader were never content to let "Barry" tread water, and seemed determined to constantly reinvent the show –- in part by pushing its central character beyond his breaking point.
As "Barry" wore on, it got tougher to categorize. While awards voting bodies heaped praise upon the show's early seasons, it saw fewer wins for seasons 3 and 4: the show, at some point, became too...

Primo, the coming-of-age comedy inspired by the life of author/journalist/former teacher Shea Serrano, has been cancelled at Freevee after just one eight-episode season.
Serrano — who created the series and served as an executive producer alongside Michael Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett, Peter Murrieta and Lisa Muse Bryant — shared the sad news on social media, almost exactly one year after the show’s May 2023 binge release.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the CSI: Vegas series finale “Tunnel Vision.”] CSI: Vegas wraps its three-season run by closing out one case and introducing a new one. The robotics case is closed after Max (Paula Newsome) is abducted—to make synthetic DNA for foreign intelligence—and Chris (Jay Lee) ends up in the hospital due to his exposure to a nerve agent. The good news: Max is rescued. But then the final moments tease a new serial killer in Las Vegas, one who has been killing in the shadows. Below, Newsome takes us inside the finale. [Editor’s note: This interview was conducted after seeing an early cut of the finale, which contained aspects that did not appear in the final cut, including about the new serial killer.] Talk about your reaction to the cancellation and how it’s been looking back at playing Max since. Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “Tunnel Vision,” the series finale of “CSI: Vegas,” which aired on May 19, and is now streaming on Paramount+.
“Things are about to go kaboom.” That’s what Beau (Lex Medlin) says on Sunday night’s series finale of “CSI: Vegas” as he prepares to detonate a series of bombs. But he might be describing everyone’s minds, as the show’s characters discover midway through the episode (“Tunnel Vision”) that they’ve been chasing the wrong villain all season.
With Max (Paula Newsome) kidnapped and Chris (Jay Lee) injured by some sort of nerve agent and in the hospital, the “CSI” team continues to place the blame on tech billionaire Truman Thomas (Owain Yeoman) — until they find his dead body.
It’s actually an entirely different villainous group that has taken Max through the 600 miles of flood channels that lie beneath Las Vegas.

Spoiler Alert! This story contains details from the series finale of CSI: Vegas on CBS.
Like what happened to So Help Me Todd, CSI: Vegas didn’t get a chance to wrap up its three-season run on CBS with any grand gestures or heartfelt goodbyes.
The procedural, which was a followup to the 2000 CSI series, was canceled in April so there was no time to throw together a satisfying ending. So anyone who wanted to see where Maxine’s (Paula Newsome) relationship with Dean was going will have to live with disappointment.
At least there was some positives in the episode dubbed “Tunnel Vision”: Max survived her kidnapping by a Saudi big bad (Faran Tahir) who stole intelligence from Truman Thomas’ secret lab. Chris (Jay Lee) regained consciousness after he was exposed to a nerve agent. Penny (Sarah Gilman) set a wedding date with Jack (Joel Johnstone), and Josh...

When CBS announced it was canceling CSI: Vegas, it didn’t warn the showrunners. This means that fans won’t be happy when watching the season finale, knowing the show is ending. One of the show’s stars said “major cliffhangers” are in the finale that will never be resolved.
Here is what fans can expect from the CSI: Vegas finale.
CSI: Vegas To End With Unanswered Questions
When CSI: Vegas returned to TV, three of the show’s original stars returned. William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) returned to CSI as did former police detective Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle). However, they left after one season and the hope was that fans would latch onto the new cast. The series brought back Marg Helgenberger to reprise her role as Catherin Willows in the second and third seasons to fill the gap.

Can’t blame a fire hose for the waterworks Friday. They’re all due to the bittersweet video that ABC released ahead of the series finale of Station 19 (airing Thursday, May 30, at 10/9c). “I don’t think anyone is ready to say goodbye,” leading lady Jaina Lee Ortiz (aka Capt. Andy Herrera) admits at the top of the clip. And that most definitely includes viewers.

Las Vegas crime lab supervisor Maxine Roby is “in a bit of a noodle” for much of CSI: Vegas‘ Season 3-slash-series finale, airing this Sunday at 10/9c.
The latest CSI franchise entry was cancelled on April 19 as Season 3 averaged north of 5.9 million total viewers — up 4% from its Season 2 audience. Alas, out of the 14 original dramas that America’s Most-Watched Network has aired this TV season, the Sin City procedural ranks last in viewers.

After three seasons, “We’re going out with a bang,” says CSI: Vegas showrunner Jason Tracey as the CSIs at the Crime Lab work the last case we’ll see on the CBS drama on May 19. “There’s never been a more personal case on CSI: Vegas. There are some very big cards left to turn over on our AI/robotics storyline, and Allie’s [Mandeep Dhillon] season-long effort to reconfigure how partnerships work at the lab. I’m so proud of how this cast and crew are bringing our story home,” Tracey tells TV Insider. Following the explosion at the bio lab in the penultimate episode, Chris (Jay Lee) has been left unconscious and Max (Paula Newsome) abducted while calling Catherine (Marg Helgenberger). “Nobody is safe,” the showrunner warns. Members of the team will head underground to look for the “imperiled” Max in the tunnels. “There are almost 600 miles...

The future is not looking bright for Raven’s Home, which has officially been cancelled by Disney Channel after six seasons, TVLine has confirmed.
A continuation of That’s So Raven, which aired on Disney Channel from 2003 to 2007, Raven’s Home reunited viewers with the sitcom’s titular psychic (played by Raven-Symoné), who was now the mother of twins — including a son Booker (Issac Ryan Brown), who has clairvoyant powers of his own. Set in Chicago for its first four seasons, Raven’s Home ultimately relocated back to San Francisco (aka the original setting of That’s So Raven) for the remainder of its run.

Paula Newsome is surprised that CBS cancelled CSI: Vegas, especially since the show had high ratings compared to others. Newsome admits she feels the show should have gotten more seasons, but does accept that it had a good run. Despite the cancellation, a new CSI show is in development, hinting at a fresh direction for the franchise in the future.
CSI: Vegas star Paula Newsome reacts to CBS's decision to cancel the crime drama after three seasons. The show, itself a revival of the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, is the fifth series in the CSI franchise and featured the returns of several actors from the iconic show, including William Peterson, Jorja Fox, and Marg Helgenberger. Newsome played the show's lead, Maxine Roby, the head of the Las Vegas Crime Lab. CSI: Vegas season 3 has not yet finished, but CBS has already made the decision to cancel the show.

CBS is developing a new CSI show despite cancelling CSI: Vegas amid budget constraints. The future CSI series details and casting were omitted in the announcement by the CBS President. The new spinoff might benefit from returning to a weekly case format instead of following the serialized path.
A new CSI show is in active development at CBS, according to a top network executive, despite the cancellation of CSI: Vegas. Continuing the long-running procedural drama of the same name, CSI: Vegas took a different approach than the original by going in a more serialized direction. In its first installment, a group of investigators led by Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome) turn to old friends - including Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) - to solve a case centered around former colleague David Hodges (Wallace Langham). Despite generally solid ratings, CSI: Vegas was among the shows recently cancelled by CBS.

The viewing public learned of CSI: Vegas's end on April 19.
Its cancellation by CBS really shouldn't have come as a shock. Its middling ratings have made it a bubble show throughout its entire run.
CSI: Vegas had every opportunity to thrive. It first aired in 2021, amid a wistful revival craze as a nation coming out of a pandemic sought comfort viewing.
In that first season, odd couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to break a conspiracy smearing the former crime lab's reputation.
At the same time, this generation's CSI lab, led by Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome), solved new cases like the former criminologists that viewers had loved for 16 seasons, only with newer, fancier gadgets to do the work.
Marg Helgenberger's Catherine Willows has fit seamlessly with the current squad over the past two seasons.
Like a legacy at any institution, the series was given time to find its way.

The CSI franchise’s return to CBS is coming to an end as CBS on Friday opted not to renew CSI: Vegas for a fourth season.
On Saturday, CSI and CSI: Vegas star Marg Helgenberger who played Catherine Willows for 14 seasons across the original series and the followup, reflected on the cancellation.
“Each & every person involved with the making of this series brought their A game each & every day,” Helgenberger wrote on Instagram next to an on-set photo of the cast. “It was truly a pleasure & honor to work/play alongside such a fun & talented company of story tellers. Immeasurable thanks & gratitude to all for making this experience such a memorable ride. And to all the fans; we did it all for you.”
Lex Medlin, who, like Helgenberger, joined CSI: Vegas as a series regular in Season 2, posted a similar behind-the-scenes cast photo on Ig with a note to fans about the cancellation.

Last year, CSI: Vegas was CBS' lowest-rated scripted series to be renewed, and it was also one of the network's lowest-rated series overall. The network's studio produces the series, and it's connected to a popular franchise, but that may not be enough to save it this time if the ratings stay low. Both “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas” have been canceled at CBS, Variety has learned.
“So Help Me Todd” is currently airing its second season at the broadcaster, while “CSI: Vegas” is airing its third. Both shows are scheduled to air their season finales in May, which will now serve as series finales.
The two shows were some of the few CBS shows awaiting words on their fates for next season. The only other CBS shows with pending renewal statuses are “The Equalizer” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.” They are both solid performers, with “So Help Me Todd” averaging 7.7 million viewers an episode in multiplatform Live+35 and “CSI: Vegas” averaging 7.6 million. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, CBS simply did not have enough room on the schedule to bring them back.
In addition to its many previously announced renewals, CBS already has a number of new shows set to debut next season.

CBS has canceled CSI: Vegas after three seasons and So Help Me Todd after two. The news is not surprising as Deadline revealed earlier this week that both dramas were heavily on the bubble and in grave danger.
That despite CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd being solid ratings performers. With the entire CBS schedule doing well this season and three new drama series joining in 2024-25, NCIS: Origins, Matlock and Watson (in addition to a second season of the Australian NCIS: Sydney), the network was faced with painful decisions, and So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas are the least watched CBS drama series this spring in both linear and multi-platform ratings.
In most current linear Nielsen viewership (2/12 to date), CSI: Vegas, which improved its time period, is at #21 among all non-sports broadcast programs with 6.234M viewers and So Help Me Todd at #22 with 6.224M. That is more...

The 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise is coming up, and we finally have a full synopsis.
This will be the 1,000th episode across all NCIS shows, including the spin-offs like Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawai’i.
It’s a big event for the franchise, and they even celebrated it on the NCIS set with a big cake.
Chris O’Donnell was on hand for that day. He used to play G. Callen on the NCIS: Los Angeles cast and his presence led to rumors about a guest star appearance.
Actor Sean Murray (Agent Timothy McGee) shared a set photo that revealed someone special returning to the NCIS cast. It will be a nice treat, but that’s not the only familiar face we will see on the big night.
Daniela Ruah (Kensi Blye on NCIS: LA) and Vanessa Lachey (Jane Tennant on NCIS: Hawai’i) also appear in Episode 1,000.

He’ll get to return to work, but he’s been demoted. And as Undersheriff Zhao (Reggie Lee) warns Max, if Josh steps out of line again, it’s not just his job at risk. CSI: Vegas cannot have crossovers with other CSI shows due to the franchise not having any other shows currently on the air. The original CSI series had multiple memorable team-up episodes, known for bringing together familiar characters from across the franchise. It's unlikely CSI: Miami, NY, and Cyber are ever revived, though there could always be new CSI shows.
CSI: Vegas, currently on season 3, has featured several characters from the first CSI show in either cameo appearances or recurrent roles, but there is one thing the revival cannot bring back from the original series. Starting as a reboot of Crime Scene Investigation bringing back William Petersen as Gil Grissom and Jorja Fox as Sara Sidle, CSI: Vegas has since found its own identity and no longer heavily relies on the legacy characters. David Hodges, Jim Brass, and Catherine Willows also returned for the sequel series.

With CSI: Vegas‘ reveal that it was drug lord Raphael Tarquenio and his nephew who had offed Kahn Schefter aka the man who murdered Jeannette Folsom, CSI Josh should be in the clear, right?
Oh, you’re so very wrong. Because the fact remains that Josh crossed many a line in the course or capturing Schefter and torturing him for information about his mom’s murder. And in this Sunday’s episode (airing at 10/9c on CBS), it will be up to the Las Vegas Review Board — and at-times surprising testimony from Max (Paula Newsome) — to determine the fate of the heretofore-stellar CSI’s career.
