Just two shows into NCIS’ new season and storylines are heating up! During the series’ premiere, fans saw Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) interested in the Deputy Direction role. Even though he had worked as an interim director and experience as an NCIS agent, the role was given to someone else: Gabriel Laroche (Seamus Dever), Department of Justice Inspector General.

Meanwhile, fans saw Lena Paulson (Marem Hassler) return in Episode 2, an agent for Germany’s federal intelligence service, Bundesnachrichtendienst (Bnd).

Lena debuted in Season 20 when fans discovered that she and Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) were hooking up at international out-of-town conferences. At the end of Episode 2, their romance is made official when Lena gives Leon the key to her apartment.

“Things are about to go kaboom.” That’s what Beau (Lex Medlin) says on Sunday night’s series finale of “CSI: Vegas” as he prepares to detonate a series of bombs. But he might be describing everyone’s minds, as the show’s characters discover midway through the episode (“Tunnel Vision”) that they’ve been chasing the wrong villain all season.

With Max (Paula Newsome) kidnapped and Chris (Jay Lee) injured by some sort of nerve agent and in the hospital, the “CSI” team continues to place the blame on tech billionaire Truman Thomas (Owain Yeoman) — until they find his dead body.

It’s actually an entirely different villainous group that has taken Max through the 600 miles of flood channels that lie beneath Las Vegas.

Like what happened to So Help Me Todd, CSI: Vegas didn’t get a chance to wrap up its three-season run on CBS with any grand gestures or heartfelt goodbyes.

The procedural, which was a followup to the 2000 CSI series, was canceled in April so there was no time to throw together a satisfying ending. So anyone who wanted to see where Maxine’s (Paula Newsome) relationship with Dean was going will have to live with disappointment.

The future is not looking bright for Raven’s Home, which has officially been cancelled by Disney Channel after six seasons, TVLine has confirmed.

A continuation of That’s So Raven, which aired on Disney Channel from 2003 to 2007, Raven’s Home reunited viewers with the sitcom’s titular psychic (played by Raven-Symoné), who was now the mother of twins — including a son Booker (Issac Ryan Brown), who has clairvoyant powers of his own. Set in Chicago for its first four seasons, Raven’s Home ultimately relocated back to San Francisco (aka the original setting of That’s So Raven) for the remainder of its run.

Paula Newsome is surprised that CBS cancelled CSI: Vegas, especially since the show had high ratings compared to others. A new CSI show is in active development at CBS, according to a top network executive, despite the cancellation of CSI: Vegas. Continuing the long-running procedural drama of the same name, CSI: Vegas took a different approach than the original by going in a more serialized direction. The CSI franchise’s return to CBS is coming to an end as CBS on Friday opted not to renew CSI: Vegas for a fourth season.

On Saturday, CSI and CSI: Vegas star Marg Helgenberger who played Catherine Willows for 14 seasons across the original series and the followup, reflected on the cancellation.

“Each & every person involved with the making of this series brought their A game each & every day,” Helgenberger wrote on Instagram next to an on-set photo of the cast. “It was truly a pleasure & honor to work/play alongside such a fun & talented company of story tellers. Immeasurable thanks & gratitude to all for making this experience such a memorable ride. And to all the fans; we did it all for you.”

Lex Medlin, who, like Helgenberger, joined CSI: Vegas as a series regular in Season 2, posted a similar behind-the-scenes cast photo on Ig with a note to fans about the cancellation.

If you weren’t aware, CSI: Vegas premiered in 2021. The show, which stars Matt Lauria and Paula Newsome, is currently airing its third season.

So Help Me Todd, starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Austin, made its debut on CBS in 2022. The show’s second season in currently airing.

According to THR, CSI: Vegas is averaging 6.4 million viewers per episode, while So Help Me Todd averages 6.3 million. Neither figure matched the network’s expectations, leading to the series’ cancellations.

Both “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas” have been canceled at CBS, Variety has learned.

“So Help Me Todd” is currently airing its second season at the broadcaster, while “CSI: Vegas” is airing its third. Both shows are scheduled to air their season finales in May, which will now serve as series finales.

The two shows were some of the few CBS shows awaiting words on their fates for next season. The only other CBS shows with pending renewal statuses are “The Equalizer” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.” They are both solid performers, with “So Help Me Todd” averaging 7.7 million viewers an episode in multiplatform Live+35 and “CSI: Vegas” averaging 7.6 million. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, CBS simply did not have enough room on the schedule to bring them back.

In addition to its many previously announced renewals, CBS already has a number of new shows set to debut next season.

CBS has canceled CSI: Vegas after three seasons and So Help Me Todd after two. The news is not surprising as Deadline revealed earlier this week that both dramas were heavily on the bubble and in grave danger.

That despite CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd being solid ratings performers. With the entire CBS schedule doing well this season and three new drama series joining in 2024-25, NCIS: Origins, Matlock and Watson (in addition to a second season of the Australian NCIS: Sydney), the network was faced with painful decisions, and So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas are the least watched CBS drama series this spring in both linear and multi-platform ratings.

The 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise is coming up, and we finally have a full synopsis.

This will be the 1,000th episode across all NCIS shows, including the spin-offs like Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Hawai’i.

It’s a big event for the franchise, and they even celebrated it on the NCIS set with a big cake.

Chris O’Donnell was on hand for that day. He used to play G. Callen on the NCIS: Los Angeles cast and his presence led to rumors about a guest star appearance.

Actor Sean Murray (Agent Timothy McGee) shared a set photo that revealed someone special returning to the NCIS cast. It will be a nice treat, but that’s not the only familiar face we will see on the big night.

CSI: Vegas cannot have crossovers with other CSI shows due to the franchise not having any other shows currently on the air. The original CSI series had multiple memorable team-up episodes, known for bringing together familiar characters from across the franchise. It's unlikely CSI: Miami, NY, and Cyber are ever revived, though there could always be new CSI shows.

CSI: Vegas, currently on season 3, has featured several characters from the first CSI show in either cameo appearances or recurrent roles, but there is one thing the revival cannot bring back from the original series. Starting as a reboot of Crime Scene Investigation bringing back William Petersen as Gil Grissom and Jorja Fox as Sara Sidle, CSI: Vegas has since found its own identity and no longer heavily relies on the legacy characters. David Hodges, Jim Brass, and Catherine Willows also returned for the sequel series.
