I had the opportunity to interview actor Brian Mahoney who has starred in such films as The Boondock Saints and The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day!  Keep reading to learn about Brian's unique road to Hollywood.

Even though you wanted to become an actor at an early age you took a round about route to achieving that goal.  How does the pressure of being a military pilot compare to the pressure of embodying a character for the stage or screen?

Brian:  Acting, like public speaking is a skill set not taught in the military.  It is in fact on opposite poles.  In a military aircraft there is no emotion.  In acting, you try to express emotion constantly.  It has been a very challenging transition!

Like its predecessor, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is a rocking, firework popping action extravaganza that doesn’t add anything deep to the series but what it does is bring us the continuation of a cult classic that after 10 years hasn’t missed a beat.

It would be a disservice to harp on Troy Duffy’s issues getting this film made and the hoops it probably took for him to finally get it off the ground, but like its creator this film is messy, vulgar, violent and completely senseless but in way that’s lovable just like the its cult classic predecessor.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day will expand to more theaters across the nation after the sequel to the 1999 cult hit performed well in limited release. Film distributor Apparition will open the movie in more cities including San Francisco, Dallas, San Diego, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Houston on November 13th.

Boondock Saints II nabbed $500,000 last weekend in Los Angeles in New York. Using a tactic most recently used by Paramount’s Paranormal Activity, producers set up a web page asking fans to “demand” that the film be shown in their area.

Directed by Troy Duff , the Boondock sequel stars Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, Clifton Collins, Julie Benz, Judd Nelson, Robert Cochrane Marley Jr., Brian Mahoney, David Ferry, David Della Rocco, Peter Fonda and Billy Connolly.

I have to be honest, before I saw the trailer to The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day , I’d never heard of it! I don’t know if this says a lot about me or that the marketing for the first one didn’t do so well! It was made back in 1999 so I was obviously too busy at school or something! For the hundreds of you out there that have heard of it, and love it, this is a special treat for you. If you went to college in the last 8 years, chances are you've seen The Boondock Saints. In fact, chances are you or a friend of yours went through a phase where you lauded it as the "most awesome movie ever". Maybe you've since come down from that Troy Duffy-lovin' cloud - maybe not. Principal photography has started in Toronto on Troy Duffy's sequel to the 2000 indie he helmed and wrote, "The Boondock Saints."

Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus are reprising their roles as the crusading fraternal twins Connor and Murphy MacManus, who seek revenge on the tough Boston underworld. Billy Connolly is also returning as Poppa M.

Chris Brinker and Don Carmody are producing with Lloyd Segan and Rob Fried executive producing.

"It's a joy and a longtime coming to be bringing such an enormously talented group of people back together again," Duffy said of the project.

Brinker said the script is well-crafted and will satisfy "Boondock" fans.

"We expect this film to be a truly intense, humorous and satisfying film for all those who have looked forward to the sequel for so long," Brinker said.

Rounding out the cast are Clifton Collins, Julie Benz, David Della Rocco, Bob Marley, Brian Mahoney and David Ferry.

Besides the basic news that Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day is still alive and well, you'll be very happy to hear that the original cast will also be returning for Troy Duffy's sequel to his own 1999 cult hit. Yep, Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus have indeed signed on to appear as the McManus brothers. Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco, and Brian Mahoney, all actors who were only rumored to be attached are now confirmed. The story of Boondock Saints 2 is as follows:

"The boys and their father Il Duce have been living in seclusion, deep in Ireland on a sheep farm, away from everything, when Il Duce’s brother comes to tell them that a priest was murdered in Boston and it was set up to look like it was done by the Saints.

The boys rush back to deal with it while their supposedly ailing father stays on the farm.

Boondock Saints is a fantastic movie but its also a great example of how a director managed to alienate himself from Hollywood and destroy a potential career. Boondock saints is one of the greatest films ever made and the director has immense talent despite his huge ego which just about derailed the entire flm. After Many years we are going to be getting a sequel to Boondock Saints and the huge news is the original cast will be back. We just got word from one of our readers Wendy Shepherd about the sequel to the cult film Boondock Saints. We had featured a review for this movie quite some time back. The film has begun its pre production work this week in Toronto. I just hope it does not turn into some B grade movie of the original and hope they have invested some time on the story.

Some original character Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco and Brian Mahoney will be returning and some new characters played by Clifton Collins Jr., Jojo Rhama and many more will be introduced into the story.
