Brooke Evan Lawsing was born in Bangor, Maine to Lisa Lawsing and
James F. Lawsing III. She showed an early passion for acting. As a
young performer, she appeared in children's theater, musicals
put on by Cold Comfort Theater and Penobscot Bay Theater and
college choir.
At age nine, she began her film career appearing on screen as one of Beau Bridges' daughters, Carrie Alder, in the feature film Signs of Life. At the age of 10, Brooke was considered for the role of Rachel in the Feature Film Pet Cemetery, and made it to the final call back.
When her family moved from Maine to upstate New York she returned to the stage as a Lead, in Play On. The move renewed her passion for stage and film acting. She moved again. this time to Virginia and began to pursue acting and film. Here she acts in student films, television productions, episodic pieces and feature films in North Carolina, New York and Virginia.
To date, she is best known for Signs of Life (1989), Too Late (2013), The Trouble with Proposing (2012), Happily Never After (2014) and Monsters and Mysteries of America (2015).
