Waldemar Krzystek

Waldemar Krzystek is a renowned movie director and screenwriter. He completed his education in Polish language and literature from the University of Wroclaw and later pursued direction from the Krzysztof Kieslowski Film School in Katowice. His debut was with the movie Powinowactwo (1984). He is best known for his work in W zawieszeniu (1987), Ostatni prom (1989), and Dismissed from Life (1992). His movie Mala Moskwa (2008) won the Golden Lions at the 33rd Polish Film Festival. In 2014, he was honored with the Golden Cross of Merit for his contributions to the development of Polish culture and achievements in creative work and artistic activity, and in 2017, he was awarded the Silver Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.
