Actress. Leggy, platinum-haired supporting player. She came to Hollywood in 1934 after some modeling experience in St. Louis, and was successively under contract to Columbia Pictures, Universal, and 20th Century-Fox. A scene-stealing comedienne and, when given the opportunity, a capable romantic lead, Kent was mostly pegged as a dumb blonde in B programmers. She is probably best remembered as the scheming office worker who gets spanked by Jean Arthur in "More Than a Secretary" (1936) and as Betty Grable's man-hungry best friend in "Pin-Up Girl" (1944). Her other films include "Carnival Queen" (1936), "Some Blondes Are Dangerous" (1937), "Strange Faces" (1938), "Million Dollar Legs" (1939), and "Stage Door Canteen" (1943). Kent's career faded quickly after Fox dropped her in 1945. Her last screen appearance was an uncredited bit in "The Babe Ruth Story" (1948).
