Jack spent over 60 years in acting starting at the age of 12 playing children's parts with Churchills Minstrels in The Happy Valley, Llandudno. He then spent many years with Leslie Henson's company and was in 18 films and some 100 television programmes including the first play from Granada before taking on the role of Albert Tatlock in Coronation Street on 9 December 1960.
