Began his career working with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0000847/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Theda Bara</a>, with whom he remained close
friends.

Had an eight-year-long relationship with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0853336/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">William Desmond Taylor</a> ending only with Taylor&#39;s famous unsolved murder in 1922.
