Stephen is an Irish actor, entertainer and creative director behind the events business Blackthorn Arts Events.
Stephen's commercial acting work includes lead and semi featured roles in theatre, film, television, videos, radio and commercial projects. His event work includes creating many types of vignette shows and acts for a wide range of corporate, festival, public and private clients.
From writing, directing, producing and performing, event assignments covered include, theatre, video, reenactment, street theatre, musical comedy, presenting and editorial for a wide range of international and domestic clients. Known fondly as, the event entertainer, Stephen, has also created and performed many fun interactive shows and educational workshops for children and young people, under his stage alias, Mr Podzo Entertains, throughout his career.
Stephen began his work back stage at the National Abbey Theatre, later continuing his work and training, at the Centre for the Performing Arts, The Focus Actors Studio and The College of Music (IRL) before being cast in the UK touring play "Lily" written by Shane Connaughton and later in the student film "Maurie" at the NFTS directed by Colin Games. In 1987 he moved permanently to London (UK) to pursue his acting career and to continue his theatre training at The Actors Centre under acting coach, Nina Finburgh.
He kept up his roots with the Dublin theatre scene and on his return began independently producing plays and events as part of the newly formed Blackthorn Arts Theatre. It was from these early days that Blackthorn Arts Events emerged and flourished.
