- Additional Crew
Darcy Gilmore has been busy for the last 21 years building a clientèle
and reputation for her specialty in beauty makeup. Her impressive
clientèle include Adam Levine and Maroon 5, Nicole Kidman, Arianna
Huffington, Suze Orman, Ricki Lake, The Dutchess of York Sarah
Ferguson, David Beckham, Maria Menounos, Rosie O'Donnell, Carrie
Fisher, Dave Navarro, Lisa Ling, Paula Abdul, Rachel Zoe, Giada De
Laurentiis, Cheryl Tiegs, Brooke Burke, Twiggy and Kristen Cavallari.
Since January 2006, Darcy has captained the Makeup Department on at
least 60 television shows and 36 editorial shoots. Most notably, Darcy
has spearheaded the Department of Makeup at Mark Burnett and NBC's
Emmy-nominated show The Voice since 2011.
Gilmore made her start as a retail consultant with the French boutique company Yves Saint Laurent Beaute and La Prairie Skincare where she learned the art of imaging-- taking the visual concept of a company and recreating it in the application of makeup retail sales for the client. She perfected her marketing and retail expertise for screen and print mediums and, while working alongside notable professionals at the Cloutier and Celestine agencies, Darcy quickly developed a reputation for being a skilled and reliable makeup artist. It wasn't long before word-of-mouth referrals opened the door to opportunities with high profile clients and several prime-time network TV shows.
In 1996, Darcy established a long-lasting relationship with Ms. Arianna Huffington (Huffington Post)on one of her first jobs for NBC Network News that included Tom Brokaw, Brian Williams and The Today Show's Matt Lauer. That relationship has allowed her to work on many high profile magazines such as British Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, both Los Angeles Times and New York Times, Newsweek and Architectural Digest.
Ms. Gilmore was a makeup expert on ABC's hit show Extreme Makeover where her artistry was highlighted on camera. It was the start of these on camera appearances that lead to features on makeover-themed shows for Style Network, TLC, Soap Talk, Lifetime, Fox and WE Networks. In 2009, she was a makeup artist expert for E! Networks Red Carpet Live Countdown to the Academy Awards 2009 and, later in 2010, was a beauty consultant for Yahoo Online.
2012 marks one of Gilmore's most successful years to date; Darcy finds herself anchoring the Makeup Department at The Voice for it's third and fourth seasons while also providing her expertise to Grammy award-winning Maroon 5 throughout the launch of their new album, "Overexposed." You can see her work in Maroon 5's music videos: "Moves Like Jagger," "Payphone," and "One More Night."
Most recently, Nicole Kidman requested Darcy for her red carpet appearance at the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards and for her role in a new HBO documentary on Vogue Publications.
